Yes... I had the same problem... Changed to this filter, got better results. Was worried that is was for pet odors. I do not use it for smoke odors. It is used for office bathrooms...Better product...John

I think they mainly just control odor but they might remove some allergens because of the charcoal filter. The Hamilton Beach website might give more details.

Hi, I have the HB True Air 04383 Air Purifier and I bought these replacement filters. They do fit. As Kimberly says, you remove the cover on the Purifier and remove the 2 brackets that holds the current filters in place, and replace. The Air Purifier takes 2 filters, even though the replacement filters come in a 3 pack. And to me, these filters are unscented. There is no smell. I have uploaded 2 pics to show you how they fit. Hope this help.
