Superb book and a brilliant film
I can without any doubt say whoever reads this true story will want to share it, it’s a short factual story of how an orphan bird brings a family suffering a tragedy together by ensuring the mother who suffers an awful injury has to focus on realising there is life after injury. The book content is based on superb photos with text so it is a short story but well worth anyone’s time. Now once you have read this get the film as they really work together, for me I wish I had read the book first as the film is so good in its own right with a feel bad feel good reality from such a freestyle family.Enjoy or miss something great.

Its a great book. Not long
Its a great book. Not long, beautiful pictures and easy to read in a single sitting. Its an amazing story and triggers a wide array of emotions. For me, while it's unique in many ways, sadly it's not in many others, and anyone that has 'suffered' can relate to this story and especially the importance of love, support, understanding, time and perhaps a special friend, whether it be feathered, four legged or otherwise.

Moving honest and beautiful x
A beautiful heartfelt story that just oozes love, respect, family, etc. Gorgeous photo’s and written from the heart by the author (the Hero) and a comprehensive honest account of how the lady felt becoming disabled from an active busy life. Very humbling and I read it from start to finish. I couldn’t put it down.

Amazing
This book truly moved me. Sad, warm, thought provoking, questioning of life and how love can heal.A family who were thrown into the most horrendous situation due to a freak accident show how love can give strength to go on. Life for Sam is bleak and her resolve to continue made me think and question at times. How do you continue when life seems so lost? How does a mother figure of the family continue. How can she survive.I would recommend this book to everyone who thinks they cannot go on. Life is worth living for and this book show it. Sam had to be an inspiration to all. Penguin Bloom is a fantastic book. So glad a friend recommend it to me.

Nope it's not a penguin
Was expecting more of a story like (penguin lessons also a true story) but it wasn't a penguin and although an amazing story there was a lot of photos, painful reading amazing grit but not written possibly as well as it could have been. Saying that, it was recommended by a friend who loved it and it would be a great encouragement for people who have or are in similar circumstances.
