Kemper Tools KMSPG Clay & Pottery Sculpture - Sponge Holder

First, the sponge at the end is too large for items like mugs or for narrow necked shapes. Secondly, it is attached with a metal screw and this can easily scrape and damage the bottom of your work if you are not careful. The picture does not show the sponge attachment, else I would not have bought this. And finally, this item is way too expensive for what it is. It's just a wooden stick with a sponge attached to it with a screw and a washer.There are similar tools with a small clip at the end that holds the sponge, so only the sponge is in contact with the clay, and I was hoping that this was that tool. For a Kemper this is disappointing. I ended up improvising by attaching a small piece of natural sponge to a chopstick with a large rubber band - and that does the job well enough, if the wheel isn't turning too fast.

The sponge on the dowel was what I expected. Thanks
