Oceanstar RHV0103W Rectangular Veneer Laundry Wood Hamper, White Finished

I purchased the natural finished rectangular veneer laundry wood hamper. Assembly is required, but unlike some of the other reviewers, I had no problems. I like the look and the airflow this provides. If you are someone who crams your hamper full of laundry, I wouldn't recommend this hamper to you. The woven strips don't seem like they could take a lot of "cramming." However, it works perfectly as a hamper for my husband and me and my once a week laundry schedule.The natural finish has a bit of an orange to it. If you are looking for a perfect match to an existing wood finish, I recommend buying this somewhere where you can compare woods OR being happy with something slightly off.UPDATE 12/19/12: I am still happy with this purchase, but wanted to add that after a few months I noticed some of the woven strips were pulling out of the side. I'm guessing our 2-year-old tried climbing on it or something. It was an easy to fix with wood glue and some heavy books, but I figured that it might be valuable info for someone who doesn't want to do that type of work.

Most of the pictures show it dark brown but with a reddish hint. Even under direct and bright lighting mine is Near black. You can’t see the red undertones at all.The only other hampers that looked nice like this were much more expensive, so it’s not worth returning, but If you’re looking for something that’s a dark brown with reddish under tones, this isn’t it.

When assembled it looks nice except the colour is more purpled than mahogeny. I remember my father having shoes this colour called Oxblood by the polish makers can. there are some small rubs where this knowledge helped me get shoe polish that made perfect covering.I really do like the style and look of the hamper but the colour keeps it in the closet. If I had gone with the lighter color I would give this a five star review, so I need to just say have two people there when you go to attach the lid. Really, or a set of clamps to keep it in place and predrill the screw holes because the marking spots are not deep enough to get the screws to seat. Assembled and touched up it is a VERY good looking piece. Honestly it shouild never have been called Mahogany and, the purple tint maks it NOT Dark Oak. The Hamper can work in my room as long as it has its own place away from another contrasting piece of furniture. I need a bigger room. hagar101

Just ok. Color darker (more orange) than pictured. Easy to assemble and will work for holding pet supplies. My cats shredded my natural woven container. I think this will withstand their abuse lol.

I love this hamper! I needed one for just my delicate clothing, and the liner on this one took care of my worry about snagging fine materials. It's on the small side--not for a family--but for my needs, it's perfect; I have a small room, and it's nice that the hamper doesn't take up space unnecessarily. It's easy to move, too, because of hand grips on the sides. A nice bonus is that it's quite attractive, especially for the price. Overall, I'm very pleased with it. I can't think of a single negative, given my situation.

Looks great in the room and is the perfect size

The Hamper is beautiful and exactly as described. It matches my cherry bedroom suite perfectly. It arrived in a timely manner and I would definitely do business with this merchant. The only thing I would ask is that it SHOULD BE CLEARLY LABELED "REQUIRES ASSEMBLY". We were surprised to see it arrive in such a small box. It took me about 15-30 minutes to assemble, but I could see that some folks might have a hard time following the instructions. Overall, I am extremely happy with the product.

It is everything I expected. The hamper looks great in my bedroom.
