this mic gives you a professional level of sound recording and very interesting experience and you will achieve a lot with it. i love it and i recommend it to anyone looks for a perfect sound.

Paid $900 for this mic and came heavily used.Pictures were taken as soon as I opened up the package.Dirty Rode NTG3 original box, dirty and heavily used mic, missing carrying metal tube cap, broken zipper handle on the carrying pouch, knife or some kind of sharp object engraved number right on the mic itself lol.....Just speechless and breathtaking.

I got the NTG3 for a Canon XF100 I use for my YouTube channel and it's easily one of the best microphones I've ever used. Period.Audio recording quality is fantastic. There's literally zero static that comes from this thing, which you unfortunately get from cheaper shotgun mics. If you've ever used a decent condenser microphone, you'll know that you get that nice, deep, smooth audio. That's what you get with the NTG3. The sound is so nice you can literally even use this microphone as an interview or podcasting microphone. It's very versatile. Directionality is great as well. When used at a public place it does a great job reducing background audio, which is super useful if you cover events and a handheld microphone is a no go.Construction quality is phenomenal. The entire unit is made of metal and feels like it'd last a lifetime if properly taken care of. It also comes with a felt lined carrier case as well as a metal tube case if you're doing a lot of traveling where the microphone may get damaged.The only drawback IMO is that it lacks a shockmount. For $700 you'd expect RODE to include their SM3 or something, but no. You don't get one. Then again, the type of people who buy this probably already have a couple shockmounts...
