Description

Sterile Frepp and Sepp applicators provide a latex-free, non-allergenic method for skin preparation prior to blood cultures. The antiseptic solutions are enclosed in glass ampules to ensure stability while allowing longer shelf life than pads or swabsticks. Frepp applicators are ergonomically designed antiseptic applicators that facilitate friction with the skin during application to enhance the efficacy of the antiseptic solution. The antiseptic is released into the wide foam applicator pad by gently squeezing the two handles. This âœwingâ design of the two handles prevents the clinicianâs hands from contaminating the prep site. The wide foam applicator pad can also improve patient comfort. Sepp applicators provide a hands-off, single-dose method of skin preparation without the risk of contamination. A triple-walled plastic shell provides protection from glass shards. Each ChloraprepÂ/Frepp kit includes one Frepp applicator with Chloraprep 2% chlorhexidine gluconate and 70% isopropyl alcohol antiseptic solution. Each ChloraprepÂ/Sepp kit includes one Sepp applicator with Chloraprep 2% chlorhexidine gluconate and 70% isopropyl alcohol antiseptic solution. Each blood culture prep kit and donor prep kit includes one Frepp applicator with 70% isopropyl alcohol and one Sepp applicator with 2% iodine tincture. Additional Sepp applicators are available, with a variety of antiseptic solution options.
