Good pots as described
These are good pots for the price. They are thick and really 18/10 stainless steel heavy duty pots. They have lasted me a long time. I don't believe any of the 1 star reviews. These pots don't come with a label saying there is chemical like what the 1 star reviewers are saying. I have used other brands sold here and this is the best one by far.. The handle stays cool again not as described by the poor reviews. These pots are easy to clean because they are made of real stainless steel unlike other cheap thin ones sold here.

Just can't say enough good things about this pan!! LOVE IT!!!
I bought my Cooks pan in October of 2014, and in the time of use (it's currently July, 2017), I have nothing but words of praise for this little workhorse!! There are few things you buy that you just are so completely delighted with, and for me, this was one of those rare gems. I use the 3-quart size daily to heat water, cook veggies, etc., so I bought this one as an extra to a very nice Cuisinart set I bought some years before. The Cuisinart pans are excellent quality as well and I would give them very high marks too except for two things: the handles have an uncomfortable shape to gripe (kind of force your palm to mash together in an uncomfortable way to grip it safely to lift or pour, especially when the pan is full and heavy) and they can become so hot to pick up without a pot holder. The Cooks pan has a pot handle and handle on the lid that have an extremely comfortable shape to grip (NO mashing up of your palm—your hand just fits comfortably and solidly around the curved handle) and that's important when you're pouring out hot liquid from a very full pan like I often do. Also, the handles are hollow and don't hold the scorching heat that my Cuisinart pan does. I'm not sure I have ever had to use a pot holder on this Cooks pan, and it's a must for the Cuisinart pan. The finish on the pan gleams and looks fantastic even though I use this daily. Surface is pretty easy to clean. I've never had rust or any other issues with the finish. It heats evenly and well—never noticed a problem in that area. The handles are secure and well attached. I can imagine this pan could last for decades of use. I love it and it's the favorite pan I reach for over the other Cuisinart. The 3-quart size is fantastic for so many things—not too big, not too small. I'd give it more stars if I could. You won't regret buying this pan (or probably any of the Cooks cookware) and the price point is pretty amazing compared to other brands.

Build quality good, very nice
The quality seems good. Solid built. I like that it's not a glass lid like all the others, but comes with a proper stainless steel lid.

Great delivery of a great pan
This pan arrived 5 days earlier than promised, so kudos to Amazon, I get to use it for Thanksgiving dinner which was desirable, but unexpected. The pot itself is very nice, the finish and feel is better than the rest of my set which is food network. That's saying something since the food network set is great and very attractive. My main purpose in writing this review is to present as factually as possible the size of this pan. Many reviews say it is less than 3 quarts The interior diameter below the lip is 7.125 inches. The interior depth is 4.5 inches. The capacity measured by using measuring cups full of water is 12 cups to the point where the flare starts at the rim and 13 cups if filled to the brim. That is 3.0 quarts to the bottom of the lip and 3.25 quarts to the brim. The pan is unusual in that many 3 qt. sauce pans are closer to 8 inches in diameter and shorter than this one. I have a 2 quart. (listed size) sauce pan that came with the food network set and it actually holds 9 cups to the bottom of the flare and 10 cups to the brim. The pans are nearly identical in diameter and the lids can be interchanged with a good tight fit on either pan. The Cooks standard 3 quart. pan is one inch deeper than the 2 quart food network pan. The food network pan has quarter quart. measurements marked inside, but 8 measuring cups (2 quarts) of water only fill it to the 1.75 quart mark. It actually holds 2.5 quarts. to the brim and 2.25 quarts. usable. So the capacity of the Cooks Standard 3.0 quart sauce pan is actually 3.25 quarts with 3,0 quarts usable. The cooks standard capacity is closer (as a percent ) to the actual number than the Food Network pan. Both are a little over the listed capacity. The fall out from this is that universal steamer inserts and similar step sided universal double boiler inserts from 2 to 4qt. are a great fit for both . Most 3 qt. pan compatible double boilers or steamers are 8 or more inches in diameter and will not fit this pan. Many 2 or 2.5 quart double boilers and steamers fit fine. The key is that they fit a 7 inch diameter pan. The fixed sizes for double boiler inserts are usually rounded and are reported to be easier to beat/mix and easier to clean (double boilers) than the step sided units. I have a step sided universal steamer and don't find cleaning it to be an issue. This is a great pan ands fits in with the Food Network set very well (they don't sell a stand alone 3Qt saucepan). I recommend it to anyone who wants a forever pan.

Excellent pot, comparable to All-Clad!
This pot is great! I'd buy a second one in a heart-beat! (I wish there was a 4.5 star, but it deserves a 5 more than a 4 star.) 1. No rust (as opposed to a Cuisinart I also purchased recently). Probably seems like an odd comment, but when a different "stainless steel" pot (new!) rusted, it seems natural to point out that this one does NOT rust!! :) 2. It's heavy and it handles milk based foods or anything else that burns easily, very well. It has a very thick bottom, which is important in that regard, and that's also what I was hoping for. 3. Handle: The handle is very comfy!!! And I don't think I've felt it heat up at all. Will make note of this too, and edit later. My one concern when I purchased this pot was that some reviewers felt the handle was too rounded and were afraid it would be difficult to handle when filled, that it would roll on them and tip. I see the concern, but personally, so far I feel I've been able to handle it well. The handle is quite rounded like they said, and the pot itself is definitely quite heavy when compared to other pots this size (not like cast iron though!!) and obviously even heavier when filled up. But it hasn't rolled on me yet, I feel I have good control over it. Just so you can compare, for a woman, my hands are small to average in size. My teen kids are handling it well, also. Otherwise the sink divider can be helpful to lean the pot against for support. Most men will probably not have any issues with it, I don't think. 4. The lid handle is also very comfortable, rounded, and feels so nice! It does get somewhat hot after cooking potatoes for a half hour, but not so hot that I can't hold it OK. I don't need a pot holder. Kids' hands with the thinner skin may need a pot holder, while gramma's thick "worked in the kitchen a whole life-time" skin would barely notice. I fall somewhere in between and it's semi-hot but doesn't burn me. The lid fits perfectly on the pot and sits on in a very sturdy way, better than any other lid I have! 5. Overall, I can't believe the quality for the price I paid! I was very seriously considering getting an All-Clad as I needed a really good quality pot, but of course the All-Clad would have been $100 more than Cooks. I do have a large all-clad pot that I've had for nearly 20 years, and though that's a great pot as well, I'd say this one from Cooks is JUST AS GOOD, if not even better! In fact, if something happens to the all-clad one, I will gladly be switching it out to a large Cook's pot!

good, but handle has issues
This is a nice saucepan with a pouring lip that works well. The lid fits nicely and has enough handle height so you can put it upside down on the counter without burning yourself by touching the business end of the lid. The problems with the pan are with the handle. It's nicely shaped for comfort, but is NOT good for pouring. If you have a pot full of water and pasta for example, it can be difficult to turn it with one hand because the handle is too rounded so the thing wants to rotate on you. My other saucepans have a flatter handle that while not as nice to hold while on the stove, are much better for turning out contents with one hand without unintended rotation in your hand. Another problem with the handle is that the cutouts near the rivets are a little rough/sharp. It's not bad enough to slice your hand open, but the manufacturing skimped on smoothing the edges there. The hanging hole in the handle is smoothed well enough though.

Terrific cookware ... but not indestructible
What a moron! I bought the Cooks Standard 10-pc. set, and have loved it. Wrote a nice review for that set here at Amazon. And then, a few weeks ago, I managed to destroy the 3-qt. covered sauce pan. Happened like this: I half-filled the pan with water, stuck it on the stove set to high to bring it to boil ... and then ran to answer the phone. The call ran long, and I lost track of time. Who knew the multi-ply clad stainless was THAT efficient at storing and conveying heat? While my friend kept me talking, in the kitchen all the water boiled away. I caught it before it burned the house down, but not before the pan was reduced to a mere shell of its former self: deeply discolored, and badly warped. Not even fit for Goodwill, it went straight into recycling. I was heartbroken. But also committed to keeping my beautiful set complete, so I instantly ordered this as a replacement. And here's a hard-won insight: the 10-pc set is REALLY economical per piece compared to buying individual pans from open stock. Well, duh! This was some $55 (for two pieces, since the lid counts), while the 10-pc set was only some $160 or so. Nonetheless, I see it as money well spent. Using these pans is a pure pleasure. They are hefty without being wrist-breaking, they are beautifully crafted, and they cook with less heat and far more evenly than any pans I've ever before owned. No anti-stick coatings to worry me about possible contamination. They've proven easy to clean, too. Just keep some Barkeeper's Friend handy. But don't leave one unattended on high heat for very long. They're solidly made, but they are not indestructible.
