Dog instantly knew he couldn’t chew it, chain rough on hands if dog pulls, though handle is very comfortable to hold. We wove some cord part way down to hold shorter. Overall seems very good quality and walks are more pleasurable now.

My dog-walker - I am disabled - used the lead for three months. We thought it lived up to the claims of strength, safety and sturdiness. I have never had any chain lead snap/break before. My dog is 30kg, medium to large. He was startled by another dog coming around a corner. Both dogs bolted towards each other. My dog's lead simply snapped. The chain broke. My dog was badly bitten by the other dog because my friend had no way of pulling him away. He is recovering now but it was touch and go for several days. On checking the lead very closely, we discovered that the links are not welded together as we first thought. This happened on the pavement of quite a busy road. Fortunately, the dog did not run into the traffic.I appreciate that there seem to be many positive views of this product. Perhaps mine was simply a one-off fault, but that is one too many. It could easily have cost my dog his life and he is as much family to me as any human. I do not take risks with his health or life.I do not think three months is a particularly long time for a chain lead to last. I have never, as I say, had one break before in fifty years of sharing my life with dogs. I would urge caution before purchasing this lead. The break was swift and sudden and I could have lost my boy. Ironically, the description of the lead and the many positive reviews were the reasons I bought the product. I am glad others have not had the same experience and I truly hope no one else does.

A solid lead, handle could be slightly bigger and more comfortable, does the job and I don't have to worry about my dog chewing through the lead.

My dog is 55kg .. so no doubt i need a thicker chain for him as this one broke within a couple of days ...I expect it would be fine on a smaller dog .. my dog is a cane corso mastiff 15 months old and very strong.

Handle could be a bit sturdier but overall does the job

To stop puppy biting the lead. Probably used it twice, scared he will hurt his mouth. Will use it more once he's grown up
