Works as Advertised in my 224 Valkyrie
I bought a new scope for my Valkyrie and wanted to laser bore sight it so I wouldn't waste too much ammo. The laser bore sighter has an on and off button built into the base of the "case". The laser activates when inserted into the chamber and bolt touched the back of the bore sighter. This makes the batteries last longer cause the laser turns off when removed from the rifle. I wish all my laser bore sighters had this feature. Rarely does a bore sighter get you on the bullseye and this product is not different. It does get you on paper where you can zero you rifle at whatever distance you need. The laser is bright enough to be seen inside or in low light but not really visible in bright day light. All my other laser bore sighters have the same issue. I read some complaints in the review and took a chance on buying this product. I'm glad I bought it because it works as good as all my other laser bore sighter, great. Maybe the bad review are customers that received a defective unit. I would recommend this laser bore sighter to a friend.

It's a strong 5 but I gave it a 1 b/c instructions don't match delivered item.
This device is a strong 5 but I gave it a 1 to highlight that the included instructions don't match the delivered item. This Green Laser LED is strong and clear well past 100+ feet in overcast afternoon light against green foliage. After proper assembly, the delivered device turned on when the bolt was lowered and turned off when the bolt was retracted. The Battery End Cap is a spring loaded momentary switch. BTW: Don't drop the bolt on the device. Bad JuJu.The included instructions makes no mention of a Spring Loaded Momentary End Cap Switch or how to assemble the Bit-Piece-Parts of the cap in the correct order. The instructions state that to turn the Laser on, install the batteries and end cap. That's it! It also states that to "Be sure to leave the batteries in the protective sleeve; failure to do so will damage the batteries." FWIW: My delivered device did not include a Protective Sleeve. Mine was internally lined with a permanent film to prevent the batteries from shorting to the inside of the device's shell.Either the wrong instructions were included in the Sealed Plastic Packaging or the wrong device was included. For $60 bucks a pop for the 223 Green Boresight, one should make sure you receive the really great 'Momentary Push Button' version and not a Run-of-the Mill 'Always On' version as described in my included instructions. I suspect that the included instruction are incorrect instructions for this product. If you receive this product with the same instructions that I received and payed $60 for it, check the battery end cap to insure it includes a Metallic Push Button, a small Coil Spring and a Plastic Bushing that holds the coil spring against the Push Button and insulates the Metallic PB from the #6 battery until it is pressed by your finger or the bolt face. The $60 device I received is definitely a Strong Five. I hope yours also is.....

It's garbage
The unit is plainly defective. The three batteries measure the correct voltage but the unit simply does nothing. Don't purchase. Since I have to pay to return it, I opted to tell you all about it instead.

DOA "Dead On Arrival"
I was told "don't buy that one!" from a know ledged shooter at a gun show. Yup, should have listened. Can't give "zeros here, so "ones" it is. Waited along time to arrive too. Will be bore sighting the .224 instead. Osprey = junk and buyer beware...what a waste of time, money and effort.

Boresight 30 Carbine
Work great on my Universal M1 Carbine. I added a red/green dot sight and needed to quickly get this gun sighted. The red laser from this round was easy to match up with the green dot on the optics. Only concern was the cost as most other calibers are readily available for half the price. Based on my need and the fact it was hard to find but worked great I'm still glad I purchased it.

Works great
Works great. Used this to help get the red dot on my KelTec Cp33 zeroed so I didn't waste time and ammunition fine-tuning on the range, and I used it to zero the laser on the weapon, which I have sighted closer than the red dot for indoor, nighttime home defense use. The wire is delicate and you need to be careful with it, but you can carefully close the bolt on this device to hold it rock steady.

Worked as advertised
Didn't come with much in the way of instructions but it was simple enough. Once you chamber the laser round, you have to pull the trigger. The firing pin is what engages the red laser bore sight. Then all I had to do was zero my green laser sight and the scope cross hairs to the red laser bore sight. Fast and easy which is what it is designed to accomplish for initial zeroing in your gun sights.

Switch is touchy
The switch that activates the laser is pretty touchy and works most of the time. It takes a few tries to get it to come on but when it does come on it works just fine.** NOTE The battery cap is on the bottom, not the end the light is on.
