Five Stars
Once again a great product from Contactum. A well built, robust consumer unit. Its built like a tank and is easy to install. Also much better looking unit than some others on the market. Ill definitely use more of these units in the future.

Consumer Electrical Unit
Works up to a 4 bed sized house. Any number of MCBs can be protected by each 80a RCD. A very safe unit indeed, well thought through for a residential level of use. The MCBs supplied with the consumer unit are 3 x 6a, 2 x 16a, 4 x 32a, 1 x 40a - but you can change it.Lots of space behind the DIN bar to route cables easily, it's definitely a well physically designed unit to make installation as easy as possible.Overall, a solid and heavy duty unit, very impressed.

Love the cabling options
A nicely designed consumer unit that will take a relatively short time to fit due to its generous cable spacing behind the detachable 35 mm top hat DIN rail. There's a whole host of knock-out options, so there's really no excuse not to get this fitted in a small space as neatly as possible. Good instructions if needed with torque guides for terminal screws and three busbar strips with insulators are included. There's enough room on the rail to fit a surge protection device, and whilst it's supplied with twin 80 Amp RCDs, I've entirely populated mine with RCBOs.I do like the fact that the lid / opening is slightly smaller than the base, so that one can get it right up against a wall / ceiling (unlike some where after 3 hours of wiring, one finds the lid fits OVER the base, so (because of the wall) the lid won't fit on and the whole lot needs to be shifted left or right).Anything not to like? No, not really; there are no grommets / sealing strips provided for the knock-outs (understandable and available ... make sure you get fire retardant ones), and the lid does not stay up which would be an easy modification by the manufacturer.Overall a good (heavy) bit of kit!
