Brachycome iberidifolia, 'Brachy Blue' Swan River Daisy A considerable improvement on other strains, this is an award-winning variety bred, amongst other things, with non-floppiness in mind. Unlike some other Swan River Daisies which have a tendency towards drunken, floppy behaviour, 'Brachy Blue' produces neat compact plants covered with a profusion of blue flowers over a very long period. Germination Instructions Brachycome (Brachycome Iberidifolia Blue Splendor) - Also known as Swan River Daisy, this sweet little flower establishes easily from flower seed. Brachycome is perfect for containers and hanging baskets as it spills gracefully over the edges. Brachycome Blue Splendor is covered with masses of brilliant blue daisy blooms, and it has an attractive ferny foliage that grows in a mounding habit. Grown in full to part sun, Brachycome daisy plants will reach 8 - 10 inches and bloom from early summer until fall. In early spring, sow Brachycome seeds on the surface of lightly firmed, moist seed compost in pots or trays. Keep flower seed moist until germination. Transplant seedlings after danger of frost has passed. Swan River Daisy seeds can also be started directly outside in a prepared seedbed after temperature warm. Pinch the growing tips to encourage a bushier growth habit. Deadheading the Brachycome Swan River Daisy plant helps ensure continuous blooms. A shearing after a full flush of blooms stimulates more blooming.
