Seems solid, but the blade is blunt. So very blunt. I will need to spend a decent amount of time sharpening before I can even attempt to use it.

Revised reviewCRAP! worse than " you get what you paid for" the brass colour fittings are steel, but thats not the problem. TWO Zpoints how did ìt work straight from box? 5 stars no photo results showing nice fune curly shavings. I heve tweeked my replacement ( see photos) shavings after much tweeking, flattening of sole and sharpening the blade. Now replacenent somewhat resembles a plane.The blade looks like the grinder thought he was making a recipricating saw blade image 4. Images 2.3,5 show the blade adjusting yolk doesn't sit fully down over appature in adjusting wheel and won't last before it starts to slip. As I see it its good weight. Plane no can't see why so many gave 5 stars unless mine is the" Bum Steer" off Chinese production line. I will likely return at amazons cost as unsuutable because of the yolk not fitting properly just shy of adjuster wheel appature.

Easy to use and fit's well in my hand. I already have a 40 year old plane but decided to buy a new one. I don't use my new plane very often, though when I do it's very sharp out of the box. I would recommend

Bit fiddly to initially setup correctly for trimming door but worked well once that was done nice job.

Plane is a bit heavy but ok to use it now and then to use it every day you need a Stanley
