Important for you to know before you purchase!
Something mentioned with the included instructions but not part of the bulbs description here at Amazon is to use this bulb in the vertical position only, BASE UP. It is approved for an enclosure but the material must be non insulating. Not sure how much conductivity there is in glass or plastic to satisfy this requirement and dissipate the heat generated by the light bulb. I have emailed Dephen customer support several times at the location included with the bulb asking for clarification with regards to the base up only and enclosed fixture not be made a a non heat conducting material with no response. Funny thing is, one of the pictures they have is with the base down in the vertical mount. My thought is no base down in an enclosure that could get water in it. It is a well made lamp and quite heavy and very bright. With a E26 base I can see why having it in a horizontal position would stress the socket. I gave it 5 stars because it is well made and solid, a great replacement for HID fixtures IF your fixture is vertical with the socket at the top. Customer support would not get 5 stars. Attached is a picture of where this bulb would be used had I decided to keep it. It would be covered by a 14" plastic globe that once housed a 70 watt HPS bulb. That bulb gets much hotter than this LED bulb so I knew the globe could handle the heat but could the LED? I have many of these fixtures to retrofit and remove the old HID ballast that has been discontinued. I also had hoped this bulb was available in 2700K but is not.

54W corn bulb is large, heavy, and VERY bright!
Dephen LED Corn Bulb 54W – Large Mogul E39 Base 5000K 7500 LumensThis 7500 lumen bulb takes about 1/3 of a second to come on. It’s not "instant on" as in the Amazon ad, but very quick.Ours is mounted in the center of a double car garage ceiling along with two other 5000K bulbs. The three bulbs in total provide nearly 15,000 lumens, which is terrific illumination for a garage. The Amazon ad says this bulb is for Warehouses, Parking Lots, Street lighting, etc., when in fact, it can actually be used in any ventilated fixture. If used outdoors, it must be protected from the weather. It has an E39 or "Mogul" base, which is larger than the typical household E26 light bulb base.To mount this bulb in an E26 base, you'll need one of these: 6-Pack E26/E27 to E39/E40 Adapter JACKYLED Medium(E26/E27) to Mogul (E39/E40)Light Bulb Lamp Socket Converter Max Watt 660W See Customer Images – am holding this bulb in my XXL hand...If using an E26 to E39 adapter, mount the bulb vertically (up or down) -- mounted horizontally, the strain of this heavy bulb could break the adapter and come crashing to the ground.

So these are awesome and very bright
So these are awesome and very bright. I have a 20x30 garage with 8.5-foot ceilings that I use two of these supplement a central 60w version to fill the garage with enough light to vacuum in the cars, wax the cars, do anything in the garage that I didn't have enough light to complete. The 5-year warranty is a bonus. The 30w doesn't have a fan, but the 60w version has a small fan similar to a 1u server fan - noticeable, but not annoying!Update - I bought another 2 Corn lights - they perform exceptionally. I have no complaints about any of the bulbs I have purchased and I like the 5-year warranty. If you have a dingy garage or workshop, these will make it easy to brighten the space.

fluorescent lamps are 5000-6000K and this lamp seems to be good deal cooler than that - I would say well ...
The lamp arrived on time and well packaged and it is very well made. There is a slight delay when you turn it on but tolerable - less than a second I would say.Unfortunately I had to return it because the light is very blue and harsh. I did not measure it but it seems to be lot cooler than stated 5000K. Daylight color is 5600K, fluorescent lamps are 5000-6000K and this lamp seems to be good deal cooler than that - I would say well over 6000K. It may work very well for a shop or outdoors but it seemed to be exceedingly harsh indoors.

Garage Lights
I am replacing those cheap led garage lights that are all over amazon with some real commercial lights with UL listing and energy saving certification. If they last as long as you say they will I will be satisfied

Failed after 3 years of night time use
I expected the LED to last longer. I could have just kept the normal bulbs and they would have lasted longer than 3 years of night time use

Successful test
I was looking to upgrade my MHL lights to LED. Ordered one of these bulbs as a test. I was concerned about the amount of light the LED was going to give out. There was some effort in removing the ballast from my existing fixture and rewiring it, but not difficult. Amount of light is about the same, and I have the added bonuses of instant on, no ballasts to replace, and lower operating cost. Bulbs are pricey and I have seven fixtures, so I will replace in stages. I just ordered two more.

30W 5000K model extremely bright and long lasting so far!
I have the 30W 5000k model. I've had it 6 months now and it works perfectly. It throws out a ton of light and I like the neutral 5000k light color. Not too blue or too red. I use it in the outdoor front light fixture and it lights up the yard pretty well for a single bulb. If used indoors in a room, would liek the room fantastically. Just note that this largest size is pretty tall so may not fit in smaller fixtures. Check the measurements. Great product!

Lit up the garage with 2 of these
The light is very bright. Seems to be of decent quality. I just installed them so I can not comment on longevity yet.
