XC2410 400W Peak Ultra Compact 4/3/2 Channel XC Series Micro Class D Marine Amplifier

I bought the Clarion XC1410 D-Class amp because I wanted to get more clarity in my music for the four door speakers in my 2011 Chevy Silverado, (without Bose system) I have a Sony aftermarket head unit installed along with an iPad Mini custom installed in my dash and I don't need to be able to play my music super loud but I was hoping this small amp. would help with the definition of my music and I am not disappointed, in fact I am quite impressed. I have new Rockford Fosgate speakers that I will be installing in the near future but I wanted to see how much, if any difference installing this amp. would make using the stock speakers before installing the new RF speakers. I can tell a very noticeable improvement in my music, just by installing this amp., I have much more mid bass now and the vocals are even more clear. This is only my second amplifier that I have installed and this one is relatively easy since I was able to put the amp. behind the dash of my truck. For the money, I am very pleased with my purchase and would highly recommend this amp. to anyone looking for more clear and refined music with the least amount of hassle and money. Also the build quality is excellent on this amp.with an all brushed Aluminum body it's almost a shame to hide it in the dash. I would recommend getting the 8ga amp. kit on Amazon when you buy this amp and you should have everything you need to do the install. Question: I love this little amp but every since I have had it installed if I turn my truck key to acc., wait 2 - 5 seconds and then start my truck the sound will not play. If I turn the truck off and open the door to "kill" the radio and then start the truck without pausing on acc. the radio works fine. I have another amp for my subwoofer and there is no problem with the sub playing regardless to how I start the truck, in other words the sub amp works normally. Both amp. turn on wires are connected to the radio "amp turn on" wire. If anyone has had this issue or know how to correct this problem your help would be greatly appreciated. I have tried everything I know to try to fix this issue with no luck. Also, it does not matter if the sub amp. is connected to the turn on wire or not I have the same issue. I am assuming this problem is a install problem and not the Clarion amp but at this point I am not so sure. I welcome any input on this, it really gets to me when something is not working exactly like it should.

Before I installed this in my 2012 Jeep Wrangler, I had previously installed a Bazooka and some Polk mids. It sounded ok but was never loud and clear enough for me. That weakness was to be destroyed with the help of this relatively tiny amplifier. The clarity of the sound is only surpassed by the level of decibels my system now produces. I'm talking "blood from the ears" when I crank up "The Great Southern Trendkill", one of the best Pantera albums. As far as installation goes, it was as easy as any other amp I've ever wired in. It's small and light enough that I used some zip ties to suspend it from two supports behind the glove box. Clarion makes quality products and this amp is no exception. If you have upgraded your speakers do yourself a solid and install this amp as well. Now you're cooking with a gasoline. ###UPDATE### After having this in my jeep for less than 2 months I can say that the amp failing miserably in the reliability department. It basically works when it wants to. At least once a week it has a repeating malfunction. There is only a low volume, high pitch squeal emitting from the speakers. This did not happen prior to installing this amp. I have to remove power and "reboot" the amp if you will. Tried contacting Clarion but was routed to a service center about two hours from me. They did not answer. When it does work, it works great, but this is unacceptable. ###Update### Contacted a service center and was told they will not honor any warranty on Clarion products bought on Amazon.com. Save your dough and avoid Clarion. Good luck. ###Update### If you read the comments on my review you'll see that Clarion actually made an effort to see what people are saying about their products. I called the # and talked to a Clarion rep and told him my story. Without any haggling on my part, he took care of me. My XC1410 had a very early serial number so some bugs can be expected however, the problem I was having ended up being caused by my vehicle's control wire. The fact that Clarion reads these reviews, and responds to them, speaks volumes about their product support and customer service. If you buy from Amazon they will take care of any issues, perhaps better than buying from anywhere else. In the end this little amp does jam and Clarion really makes an effort ensure the customer is happy.

Pretty great little amp, pushes well without draining the system too much. Installation was simple and the system played first try. Has RCA options, as well as direct speaker +/- connections. Great overall amp, and for cheap. My only concern is this. It does have a safety cut off, if it's pushed too much, which I may or may not have reached quite a few times. All it does is cut out for a second. Turn the volume down a little and it jumps right back in. I have yet to test when exactly this happens, It would be beneficial to see if this cutoff is truly a safety switch, or if the claimed 300w max isn't being reached. Just me speculating. If you're that concerned about how loud the system is, don't get a digital amp. And don't get a 300w max amp. This is a great option for cars with weak charging systems, that still want quality sound on a budget. This amp delivers that, and so much more.

Doy tres estrellas porque es un buen amplificador en cuanto a sonido, pero mi unidad presentó fallas. Amplificador con buena calidad de sonido, sin embargo los canales delanteros se apagaban por 1 segundo al reproducir musica a moderado-alto volumen, y pues así no se puede usar el equipo. Se ajustaron ganancias, incluso por debajo del nivel de salida de la unidad principal y se seguia presentando el problema. Es un equipo súper compacto y facil de instalar, casi no se calienta, quizá me tocó una unidad defectuosa.

I found this amp to be easy to install once you figured out which wiring system your boat is using. Fortunately for me I had a clarion amp that was easy to translate wiring. Amp performs just like any other amp. Unfortunately Clarion has closed down but I am sure any other amp can do the job for me.
