Easily worth ten stars!
I originally bought this book for my grandson who wanted to learn crochet to help his anxiety, and with lockdown restrictions I couldn't teach him in person.I'm an experienced crochet designer (40+ yrs) and I was blown away by how well set out this book is. It covers all the basics methodically, using diagrams rather than photos, includes an explanation of UK versus US terms, and shows the international symbol for each stitch (something that I wasn't brought up with).Honestly, if we ever get back to holding workshops, this will be my go-to textbook. It is worth noting that the book covers stitches and techniques only. It does NOT have any patterns. However as these are easily found online, I don't see this as a negative. There are too many books who rush the basics and throw in a bunch of uninspired "beginner" patterns. This one gives the learner their money's worth. I'm surprised that the discounted price (the original cover price was £9.99) was even necessary.

Useful reference book
This book is so much better than the companion volume on knitting. If you don’t crochet very often, you will find it a very helpful reference book to keep at hand to remind you how to form basic stitches and less common stitches, plus other essential techniques. It covers everything you are likely to need to know before embarking on a project, including how to read a chart, and is much quicker than searching on YouTube. Well illustrated and laid out. Mine was heavily discounted, so incredible value for money.

Brand new , excellent condition , very informative
Very informative book for me as I'm a complete beginner ... As they say all the tools and no idea. So this book has saved me big time from just forever making hair scrunchies.

Good book!
Good book, lots of easy to follow pictures. The only thing to note is that it uses American terms so this needs to be taken into account when learning from it (I bought this to help my sister so I explained the difference between American and English crochet stitches and she was fine and can now crochet!!)
