WONDERFUL PURCHASE AND I'M HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY
Well, this review is honest. I am a lover of kayaking. On the lake and on rivers. I've even kayaked in the ocean. I have tandem kayaks that I have started out with. Which I love. My butt suffers though. I tried finding me another seat for them with not much luck. I tried a sit on top kayak with this seat on the Perception kayak and loved it. I didn't want to get out of it. So, the search was on for me to get a kayak with this seat. I found it on here. I purchased it and as soon as it came, I took it to my pond to try it out. I went into the water right off the bat. The seat was positioned way too high and I toppled over! I wasn't thrilled. Then my husband pointed out that I had my seat too high and that was the cause of my problem. I then adjusted the seat to the lower position and viola` it worked great. Its wobbly because I am not familiar with this kayak. Within 2 minutes at best, I had it mastered. I have since taken it to the lake and went out in high waves and it did quite well, so did I. Also went out the next day for a very long time, around 2 hours and never got tired. My butt did not suffer or my back. I am pleased with this kayak. I have purchased some dry bags to have for river trips. I am thrilled I found this kayak and thrilled I love it as much as I do. I would say if you are a beginner, lower that seat first off. Its scary if it wobbles or tips. Pros won't take a second notice. I am a novice so I want to feel secure. This kayak is for me!

I almost died...kayak easily flips
I did a lot of research prior to making this purchase, but I deeply regret making this decision. I've kayaked in the harbor before on rental kayaks and so I thought I could bring this kayak out with my full on fishing gear. After I got on it and paddled out I noticed it was really unstable, as I could have flipped easily with the slightest movements. I returned to shore to move my milk cart around to shift the center of gravity and went back out. Here's the dumb part: I thought everything was going fine so long as I didn't paddle so hard. It was fine for a while and I paddled past the jetty. I think I was like 500ft or so away from the jetty when I decided to grab my bait, which was in the milk cart behind me...i lost balance and flipped the kayak. Was it supposed to do that? The swell was only 1-2ft with 13 mph wind....it was a super calm day. Luckily, I had my wetsuit and PFD on, but it took me 20 (felt longer than that) mins or so to flag a boat to call the habormaster. After 20 or so mins, I was defeated...Moral of the story: Get another kayak. Practice that kayak without your gears. Purposely flip your kayak and learn how to get on it. Get a vhf radio.

Shipped with wrong seat and missing attachment points
When I got my kayak delivered I checked the hull for any issues, The seat was zip tied to the inside of the kayak and didn't think anything of It. When I got the kayak out to use it later on that day I noticed that a couple of attachment points were missing. I was ok with that, I could just call perception and order some. Then I tried to install the seat, Its about two inches to big to go into the slots that it should go into. Amazon was helpful, Preception not so much. I think they have one person answering phones, I didnt have all day to dedicate to sitting on hold. Looks like I won't be kayaking for a month until I get it returned.

pretty stable ride
Smooth, pretty stable ride. Cupholders and glove box area is a little far from where you sit but I'm 5'7" so that's prolly the problem, wish it sat closer to knee area/in between your legs more. Does not come with scupper plugs or a paddle holder- which for an expensive kayak was somewhat puzzling. Area behind deck plate has stayed dry so far. Pretty light, loaded kayak on and off truck with no help. Drag plate on rear end is removable/replaceable which is nice, but after 4 feet of concrete it lost about a quarter inch of plastic already- Not bad but not great. Seat is very comfortable, its wonderful- only wish they made a rotating seat version.

Very good fishing kayak
Very good fishing kayak. Seems well built and durable. Nice seat. Lots of storage and the option to put a fish finder in it, plus gear tracks. Seems pretty stable on the water. Only downfall is the 2 built in rod holders behind the seat are not usable stock. Had to put another smaller rod holder in the stock rod holder and that worked ok. It's a bit heavy but expected for such a well built craft of its size.

Not as stable as advertised
I have been out on this 2 times. I really enjoyed it the 1st time. The 2nd time I hit some barely white waters and was flipped upside down. Hit my head on a rock inhaled a lung full of nasty river water and nearly died. Thank god I reached put for and found the paddle leash. Im no longer confident in the stability of this kayak. I would not recommend this for new kayakers

kayak it awesome!
Unfortunately my item was shipped to the wrong state and could not be sent to me for another 30 days. I then requested a refund and purchased from Academy. The kayak is perfect and was cheaper when purchased with an Academy store card due to discounts. Unfortunately my buying expereince was below par.

Light weight and treads well
Had a Hobie outback 12’, great kayak but very heavy!.... So l bought this one and l am glad l did!... It’s much lighter and it does everything the Hobie did. The seat is actually much more comfortable and lager. I am 6 3” 240lbs and feel very comfortable. You will be happy with this kayak, as l am!
