Great alternative compared to other name brands and their higher pricing.
I installed 4 8Gb memory sticks in my 10 year old Alienware M17 X R3 laptop. Back in its day, this was a top tier laptop that was custom ordered from Alienware. Today I'm not so much into gaming, but I use this laptop for processing astro photos. It has a then top of the line I-7 CPU, and a hefty G Force video card. For its new main use, I experienced a "ran out of memory" message for the very first time when processing an image from my new higher resolution astro camera. Well, the 8 gigs wasn't cutting it anymore, so maxed it out to 32 GB just to be sure. A much cheaper alternative than getting a new laptop. It has plenty of processing power even at its age, and in almost perfect condition. With the added memory I noticed a speed increase as well so an extra bonus that I wasn't sure I would see. Very happy with the renewed performance!

Memory upgrade for a Mac
I had to tear apart an iMac - my memory escapes me now but it was like a late 2012 with the screen that uses adhesive to affix it - for an SSD upgrade. I decided to upgrade the RAM at the same time. It's been 6 months now and the machine is still running great post-upgrade. G.Skill has been my go-to memory for PC for years, but it apparently works great with Macs, too.

Exactly as advertised. Good upgrade for the money!
Used this kit to upgrade the stock 2x4GB cards in my ASUS laptop (model Q550LF). I verified this kit was compatible with my laptop by checking the processor specs. Intel's ARK website lists the RAM specifications that each processor is compatible with (in my case 16 GB @ 1600 MHz was the most my processor could support). Physical installation was simple (find a video on Youtube to make sure you do this properly!) and it was plug and play from there. My hardware monitor shows it clocks at 1600 MHz and the latency is 9/28, exactly as advertised. I've noticed a performance boost since upgrading - it's no longer sluggish when lots of programs are open. Good memory for the money. Highly recommended!

Work great!
I have read tons of reviews of people saying it didn't speed up their machine... of course it didn't. If you want to speed up your computer get a new Processor. The processor is the brain, the RAM is basically the short term memory. By upgrading your RAM you are increasing the amount of things you can do at one time, it can also boost your computers internet speed.Upgrading a processor is a lot more complicated on a laptop. Ask for professional help. You may have to get a new motherboard if your cpu is not slotted. Which is very complicated, get help from a licensed individual. How to tell if your machine can use these:-Google your model and search max ram. If it says 16gbs then you can run these.-Just to be safe also check your processors max supported RAM. If those are clear then also check what kind of ram you need. You can also find this with your model number.-These are DDR3 ram sticks, which is the standard now a days. Just double check. Now why you would need more ram:-If your a gamer. I do not suggest usong these to try and boost your graphics card. Get a card with at least 1gb dedicated video ram not max.-If your computer is freezing up and your task manager says your memory is almost maxing out.I hope this helps someone. I sadly didn't look up my processor. It maxes at 8gb ram, however luckily my wifes computer had 8gb of the same type of ripjaws. She could handle 16gbs so we just switched, was worth it since my ram was 7 years old.Work great!

Got Memory and Happy it just works in my laptop
Got this memory recently to add to my 3rd gen I5 toshiba Laptop. First Gskill memory for laptop. Installed 2 x 8gb memory modules. Maxxed out 16gb. Worked right away after installing. Windows 10 saw it and started using it. Also seems an I got performance increase. Ran a few memory hungry applications like virtualbox and had it run 2 other Operating systems Just put it through test capability, reliability, no or low heat. So it passed all three. I thought It was great value among other choices I was looking at. Came with Red Gskill sticker to add to proudly show.
