This little motor has 3/4hp, which is probably way more than I needed for my 21’ wide, 400 pound gate, but better to have more than not enough.The motor was very easy to setup and get running. It did take a minute to catch on to mounting the magnets, but once I got that figured out, my gate operated perfectly.Smooth start and stop operation.I had one problem that came up where i had to standing close to the motor for the remote to work. I contacted support at Topens, who immediately recognized the problem, which was a loose antenna wire,‘which took me allof 5 minute to fix following their advice.Super Reliable Company!

Used this for my 25’ wrought iron cantilevered gate, likely weighing 1500 pounds. It’s been a month and so far so good. The unit is compact and has all the connections (contacts) needed for keypad entry along with a multitude of options including eye sensors, additional remote control key fobs, remote wand (magnetic sensor buried next to driveway that senses vehicle passing by to trigger gate opening). Installation is straightforward. Uses two magnets (one is higher one slightly lower) that get mounted to your fence rail to determine stop and stop for open and close. Simple enough. The trick is bringing the unit up to your geared tracks (also available as an option). For me this required pouring a large concrete base (24”x 12”x18”) with rebar to secure it to the concrete slab that supports my cantilever foundation. I used 1/2” pieces of threaded rod protruding out of my slab to mount the unit which allows for adjustments to height using threaded nuts. You’ll need to leave about 4”-5” inches of clearance as this is the distance from the base of the unit to where the toothed gear touches the geared rail affixed to your gate. Be sure to leave a little room for adjustments as your gate may sag a little over time. All in all well worth the money. Gate guy quoted me over $2k for a similar unit with the same features. Additional key fobs are a snap to link as there is a smart button that “learns” the rolling code. Operation is smooth and quiet. Recommend.

The Topens gate opener is so simple to install and effective. It's working perfectly with no issues. I really love it and will buy another one for the remaining gates.
