Preposterous premise
Overall this is a decent horror flick. It has a typical horror plot of creepy killer kills victims one by one and who will be left standing in the end. It has a fair amount of bloody gore and suspense. I like that the story gives a bit of the creep's backstory which better helps to understand his psyche or motivation to kill. My biggest gripe about this movie is the absolutely ridiculous, preposterous premise. There is just no way a county jail or correctional facility would send a handful of co-ed inmates to a public worksite, cleaning up an abandoned hotel, with no security except for one officer; not to mention that the hotel has about 10 stories and 100 rooms that are not sealed off, and the inmates can access any tools as weapons or hide out somewhere. Even though there is no way to escape except through the front door, but still, this premise is just plain stupid. Aside from that, this is not a bad horror flick.

Awesome
Big humongous dude gets shot in the head, and gets a plate put in. He pretty much goes psycho and wants revenge. Really good movie.

Surprisingly, this movie didn't burn in Hell.
While I am a huge Wrestling fan (Pro, Olympics, all that stuff.), I will try to leave out the novelty of Kane (One of the greatest wrestlers of all time) and solely review the movie. Then again, not mentioning Kane's wrestling background for a slasher movie is like not mentioning Billy Joel's singing ability for a musical. Kane already plays a villain on stage, does his own stunts, and is use to being physical, so this movie and role is perfect for him. With the release of Oculus (Another WWE productions movie) I was curious about their first venture in the Slasher/Horror genre. While I'm not a big fan of the other WWE/John Cena movies (The Marine, etc), this movie pleasantly surprised me. It starts out with a flashback-type scenario, which reminded me of the recaps that the older Friday the 13th movies did, where Frank Williams (Steven Vilder), a police officer and his partner Blaine (Corey Parker Robinson) respond to a disturbance call. When they break into the house, they are surrounded by religious symbols and soon encounter the victim of the crime, a young women who had her eyes plucked out. That's when "it" hits the fan. Our villain (Or hero, depending on your mindset), Jacob Goodnight (Kane/Glenn Jacobs) appears and brutally murders Blaine, and tries to do the same with Frank, who manages to shoot Jacob in his hand, but not before his arm is severed. Years later, Frank starts a new job at a prison. He is tasked with taking a group of young delinquents (enter slasher bait) to the homeless-infested Blackwell hotel. After this, it's basic slasher movie formula, with a few exceptions. Some of the people that were killed and saved surprised me. Now, on to the acting. Kane was great as the monster Jacob Goodnight. He was silent, held your attention, and just had a presence. He did all his own stunts (there's that WWE background helping out), and just knew that character he was playing. Most of the other characters were generic, other than Frank and the two final girls, (who had a lot of sexual tension around them). But like I said, most of the characters fell flat. Like that motel owner. She sucked. The CGI was better than others, the direction was good, some of the kills were freakin' insane. There are a few inconsistencies, but none to blatant. As far as special features go, the commentary with Kane was great, one of the best I've heard. There are two trailers, and an awesome storyline history of Kane in the WWE. So to sum everything up, give it a try. You'll enjoy it if you don't expect Shakespeare.

The best WWE Films movie to date.
By and large, WWE Films has made cookie-cutter movies based on genres that were successful for Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, in hopes of making their other stars (Triple H, John Cena, Randy Orton, Ted DiBiase) as popular as The Rock. By and large, that has failed, as the scripts have been mundane, the direction decidedly average, and the "stars" just aren't charismatic enough to carry a film. On two occasions though, with "See No Evil" and "The Call", WWE Films broke that mediocre mold and really made a solid film. Sure, there's nothing in "See No Evil" that you haven't seen before if you're a fan of the horror genre; however, Glen Jacobs (aka Kane), who plays main antagonist Jacob Goodnight, is wonderfully cast in this movie and he actually has everything that it takes to play a convincing slasher in this type of film - he's large, he's imposing, and he's completely believable as a serial murderer. Jacobs' performance is so convincing that it actually does a pretty good job at hiding the movie's main flaws - an unoriginal script and cardboard cutout characters. Thankfully, director Gregory Dark is aware of the film's shortcomings and does his best to minimize them, setting the perfect atmosphere and letting Jacob Goodnight run wild. It's certainly not the best horror movie of the last ten years, but it's absolutely a fun little romp that's worth at least a rental.

not too shabby if truth be told
Being an avid wwe fan and possessing a liking for wwe superstar kane isnt essential is liking this film, i am a wwe fan and dont care much for kane these days but i still enjoyed this film all the same. The film is brings up new ground in the slasher genre, somehow i dont think new ground will ever rear itself in that genre ever , but if each film tries to outgore the next then that can only bring good times. This film ticks some of the required boxes but doesnt have any real class to it in truth. Kane does what he does best and that is look mean, he is never forced to really act and his dialogue is all but nil.

..
I saw this movie years ago and somehow convinced myself I wanted to see it again. This isn't a bad movie, it's just not remotely original; young cast of cliches you don't care about, scary abandoned/haunted location, a total lack of common sense....this movie has it all. There were a few interesting deaths and entertaining moments, but it just isn't enough to make it a good movie. Watchable, but not for repeated viewing.

Really bad slasher
A slasher movie where you really want the victims to be killed ASAP is not a good slasher movie - probably the worst slasher movie I have seen - the victims of a slasher movie are suppose to be the good guys - in this idiot movie, you sympathise with the killer - the guy who hates dogs and hates women is the hero of the film- pathetic!

The perfect horror.
Purchased as have all the WWE movies. It was one of the better films. Arrived in A1 condition and on the date as stated in the email. It was a film that made me jump at times, a little predictable at times. Still worth a watch.
