Handy
Have a large apple tree, this product made collection so much easier. Easy to keep clean & store as it vom s which it’s own storage bag. I’ve had it to its full length & still feels adequately strong.

Works well, but the basket comes loose regularly
Firstly, it's not telescopic, but I'd worked that out already. It's sections that screw together. Seems robust enough after 1st use, getting a 100 apples or so, but the basket comes loose very regularly and the clips soon stopped adjusting well. I think it's ok to use once or twice a year for me.

Well made and sturdy
This is a well made and sturdy fruit picker. The cage is easier to use than the type with a bag as you see the fruit without the bag getting in the way. The foam is a simple and effective way of protecting the fruit and the long length is realy useful Although not telescopic, the screw on sections make it easy to adjust the height and the pole sections appear to be made of steel which is very robust. Overall, a very useful fruit picker that should last for many years.

OK, but will damage the apples.
The product came with a piece missing, so we had to secure it with duct tape. We got a reduction in the cost from the supplier for this. The product is OK but the metal spikes often damage the apples as they are picked. This is fine if you want to use them right away but you won't be able to store the apples.

The MaidMax fruit picker
This fruit picker was extremely easy to assemble. This year my fruit trees are absolutely covered in fruit and so many are right at the top of the trees. This picker was able to pick them without any trouble at all.Definitely would recommend it.

Super idea!
This has worked so well on my taller fruit trees, I wish I had known about it years ago. And not overpriced. Recommended.

Not as described. Missing plastic fixing.
As shown in the photos, none of the extender poles have the plastic insert at the end of the pole (the one with the handle obviously goes first). From the add, the collector cup goes around this plastic insert. As things stand, and with the plastic insert missing, the diameter of the pole is too small to tighten the cup around is.To get this to work the user will have to come up with a solution to increase the diameter of the end of the last pole.As is, the item is unusable. I am very surprised this was sold via Amazon,

Does the job that is expected of it
On opening the box, it was immediately obvious that there were no instructions for assemby. Fortunately, it isn't hard to work out for yourself. Put the two halves of the basket together, put a circle clamp round the outside of the neck of the basket, insert the end of one of the rod sections inside the neck and tighten the circle clamp. Then shove the foam pad inside the basket. The only catch is that you need to find the pole that DOES NOT have a screw thread inside the top of it. Then all the other pole sections screw on to each other. Not measured the length but the description says 13 feet which seems about right. The pole visibly arcs a bit in use but not enough to make it hard to control. However, it can be difficult getting the basket round the apples and then snag them on the tips. From the ground, you can't see the orientation very well. Also, I had to retighten the clamp a couple of times when I pushed a bit and the basket slid down the pole. But at the end of the day, it did what it was intended to do - get the apples off the tree safely. You tend to dislodge quite a few as you manouvre it into position. It will be easier if you have an assistant to unload the basket when you bring it down rather than having to keep going from one end to the other.
