Kindle Version Is Still The Outdated 2000 Version
This could be a great Kindle book. But it's not. It is old and outdated. While the verbiage says it was updated to a 2009 version, the version delivered this summer was 13 years outdated. It was from 2000 and offers nothing to digital photographers. While there are many locations mentioned, and those locations are still there the photography information contains little of relevance to today's digital photographer. There are suggestions on film to use such as Fugi Velvia, which won't fit any of my digital cameras. There is little in the way of location information and no GPS location indicators. The photos included in the Kindle ebook are murky and the colors are all off. I can not get a reasonable idea, without using my imagination, of what a well exposed, well taken image would look like. There is an extensive appendix offering a listing of places to eat, sleep, and buy equipment. Since the book is dated 2000, I believe all of this information is from the last century. It did not add to the book. The photography stores listed outside of the park, may still exist in many cases, but since it is 13 years or more outdated, that is uncertain. The Kindle version is in drastic need of an update. I can not say anything about the 2009 paperback version, since I did not order or receive that and I'm placing my review in the "Kindle Store". I can not get a preview online, as the current preview states that you will see the 2000 book but receive the 2009 book.Amazon has many, many other books on Yellowstone and the Tetons. I'd encourage you to look at their offerings and purchase another book. I did purchase several other books on travels through the parks, hiking, and a map set. Everything else was up to date and very helpful.

Very good book.
I bought this book and Verderber's book before my trip and took them both there. Both are equally useful. Both are specific about what, where and when.Lange was absolutely right about shooting the lower falls around 9:30 am. The rainbow only lasts about 20 minutes, but it is worth it. Lange also covers the Grand Tetons in his book, an added benefit.Note that his tech is a little dated (film vs. digital) but most information is still applicable. Some of the filter info is not applicable to digital, but if you are experienced you will know that. This book is not for amateurs, as you really need to know your camera, etc. to make use of the information. If you are going to photograph in Yellowstone, you are going to try to find every resource before the trip. I did so and it was worth it.

Photography Guide to Yellowstone & the Tetons
The book was what I expected. Because of the limited time available to me while visiting the area, I thought I follow someone else's experience. The photos and relevant information were excellent. I know some reviewers complained about the heavy use of filters and enhancers on the lens but that did not alter their actual and intended beauty. The area provides for so much contrast within each and every frame that the use of split-density, enhancing and polarizing filters are almost necessary in order to coax every bit of depth and detail, particularly in digital camerars. The information is very detailed and I am planning to check out its accuracy this June.

Grand Tetons
I really only used the book when I visited Grand Teton National Park. It was great for sunrise and sunset photo locations. His suggestions for sunrise photo locations were great. I highly suggest studying the map that comes with the book as you will understand where and when to be (and why you should be there). This was worth the price as many of the photos that I took came out great (for me). This book is one that I would purchase again if I was playing arm chair quarterback.

Best book for Grand Tetons and Yellowstone
I bought this book and several others. This is the absolute best one. Do not look any further if you are a photographer. Every point and time of day is noted. The images are examples and while some are older they are still great and offer an idea of what you might get. No guarantees yours will be as good, but mine were superb and without this book I would never have gotten them. This was the most valuable asset on our trip. Got some of the best images ever. More than worth the few dollars. Don't listen to the others whining that their images were not good and tried to blame the book. Its not the book's fault. This is the book you want if you are visiting The Grand Tetons or Yellowstone.

Invaluable tool
I loved this. About a month prior to my trip, I read, underlined, and made lists for my trip, based on this book. It proved to be extremely reliable and helped me find things I otherwise would have missed within the parks. The notes on where to stand in relation to the scene, and what time of day to capture the best images was extremely helpful. I ended up being able to make a very nice calendar for my friends and family from all the great pictures I was able to take, using this book. Thank you to the author, for such good, solid research and tips!

good, but kind of out of date because it focuses solely on film.
To be fair ths book was written in 2000 so obviously dslr wasn't really a thing yet. This book gives a lot of good ideas. I would love to see in revised for digital photography ! As someone who takes photographic trips to Yellowstone I would pay for a new revision. I think it is still very useful for someone who can translate film stuff to digital. Also has a lot of great pictures. Plus it was free so there is not too much room to complain.

Great book for photographers. Only negative is with the quality of the paper back book itself as the pages started to falling out.

Good Guide for places / spots to photographe
This book give people travelling for the first time to Yellowstone and the Tetons great guidance for protographing spots. For advice on the camera and lenses used this book is not up to date. Most pictures are made with kodak or Fuji film. But for prepairing my holiday the book was as good as I wanted it to be.
