Little bit of work to get vertical space
Ordered 4. Got 1 in terracotta somehow. Either way, these do work. However, I had to build a freestanding system to hold them and figure out how to water them. That was the most labor intensive part. I'll try to post a video the next time I build one, as I have yet to see any kind of tutorial.

Nice little setup. American company still making a great product.
Top down watering seems a bit uneven. Like it is setup with vertical hydro gradening in mind. Just finished setting mine up on a t gallon bucket drilled some holes in the lid some PVC tubing and a cheap pump along with some expanded clay and now I can grow strawberries year round

and I really like this vertical garden for my herbs
Indoor gardening has been working out for me recently, and I really like this vertical garden for my herbs. I have been sprouting them in my hydroponic setup, and transfer them over when they are of a moderate size and strong. Depending upon how things turn out, I am planning to have herbs in three of these tiers and in the other two I will put some tomato and tomatillo plants that have sprouted. I am not really certain yet if I will put all five tiers together, or have a 3-tier and a 2-tier. Then, if these things turn out well, I will be sprouting greens and cucumbers to transfer over. Who knows? Maybe more tiers will be needed! Why four stars? Only the tiers come, which is clearly shown in the photo, but the instruction sheet clearly stated to put the first tier on the base then build it up from there. No base comes. You must go to a garden store or supermarket to get one; without it the runoff would leak all over the place. I was blessed that the garden store only had two sizes, 6" and 14", because after carefully measuring the 9-10" base of the tier I would have purchased one too small. The 14" base was perfect. It would have been much better for them to either state that the buyer must go get their own base, as well as the best size to buy; or to tack on a few more dollars and include one.

Love this!
Love mine! I use a wheelchair, so set this on top of a small low table, and on a turntable, ran a pvc pipe with holes punched through it down the middle, filled the pipe with sand filled the unit with potting soil and herbs, and a week later enjoyed my first harvest. I roll out to my deck, snip off what I need for a meal, give the unit a turn, checking for moisture, and roll in. I'm waiting for the tomatoes I planted in the top tier to grow (lots are forming). The pipe with sand helps with water distribution -- the bottom tiers seem to dry the fastest. Having it on the turntable allows me easy access from my chair. I'm really pleased with it.

Great system
The system requires that you provide a 3/4" PVC pipe ( it refers to this in the add.) otherwise you need to put it somewhere where the is NO wind.I got an extra long piece of PVC; drilled holes for water to get to the interior of the unit; and drove the PVC pipe 8" into the ground.- that made it stable.Strawberries are already forming and have had two lettuce, chard, spinach, and pok choy salads. I would highly recommend this unit.if you are a bit handy with tools.

Nice product!
I ordered this and understood what it looks like. It’s not what I expect for me to plant strawberries in but thought it’s great for herbs! I was hoping for more taller or roomy. It’s pain back bending if left on floor. So I had up off floor where I can easily tender it and water it. This do have hole in middle if you want pipe go in middle for watering system. Plastic is sturdy, not flimsy or cheap like.

Good product but needs input from buyer to make it work
Ordered several black and white kits. The pots are a good quality firm plastic, however they become unstable the higher you stack. I ended up stacking 15 pots high to utilize maximum vertical space. In order to do this, I ran a 3/4" pvc pipe up the center and constructed a 4 legged base with pvc as well. This requires drilling a 3/4" hole in the saucer to attach to the vertical pipe at the base. I then secured it via wire rope running from the bottom below the saucer up to a turnbuckle attached to the ceiling (in a greenhouse). The turnbuckle allows for adjusting the wire tension as this will differ once the soil is filled. While I was at it, I ran four x 1/4" water lines up through the pots in some preexisting drain holes on each side to the top, using 1/4" drip line with the drip holes spaced at 6" intervals (this allows each pot to receive hydration instead of having to over water the top pots and rely solely on gravity to irrigate the stack.Have found that in this scenario the white stacks appear to be growing slightly better than the black ones, but I am not currently using artificial light so the white pots are likely benefitting from reflected sunlight (it is currently winter season with reduced light). However in the summer the black pots may benefit from warmer soil. One idea I am toying with is to have the entire stacks slowly rotate automatically, but for now I will just manually turn them every 3 days or so.

Excellent for indoors!
Having indoor herbs and veges are a bonus with our 6-month winters. Works great as plants are flourishing. Have herbs, lettuce, kale, and anticipating cherry tomatoes and mini bell peppers.

This thing is awesome!
First off, definitely do the PVC thing for support. Using it for irrigation is totally up to you, we simply use it for support incase it were to be knocked over.We love it. Wish we'd bought more than one. Will definitely be buying more before our next growing period.Works and looks exactly like the ad suggests. Totally accurate advertising here. My wife put an assortment of flowers in the top/middle /bottom, and radishes in the 2 tiers separating them. We rotate it every once in awhile and everything is thriving and has been filling in beautifully. Such a cool product. Thanks, totally worth the price.

Sturdy! Space saver
I used this to plant spinach. I find the pockets very small, and so i feel like my plants are not reching their true growth potential. But plants grow well and it saves space. I wish there were bigger options. With that being said, i put a simple 1/2” thk bamboo pole through the middle of the tower for added support... and it withstood the 120km/h windstorm that we had last night! Very impressed!

Ease of assembly
Easy to assemble and like the fact that it was black. It doesn't hold a lot of soil, so not compatible for larger water hog plants like geraniums. Would be great for herbs. Next year, I will put artificial plants in it for a more dramatic and colourful display.
