34051 will install on the S-10 with the ZQ8 package. The reason it is not listed is because the ZQ8 sits 1.5 inches lower than the base S-10 pickup. This shock will increase the ride height and take away the lowered look and make the vehicle look unbalanced. (front potentially higher than the rear)

The lower bar pin in 34051 is about .25 inches narrower than the original front Dakota shock, so the mounting bolts would not have enough grip on the bar pin to hold the shock securely. Modifications would be required to make this combination work.

Q: Would these work with lowering spring on a 1971 cutlass?

The 34051 can still be installed provided the amount of lowering is minimal and the original suspension limiters are still in place and not modified. The design of these shocks is to restore lost height due to sagging springs or a load, so expect the front to rise up a little. (3/4" is typical) Keep in mind, a lowered spring is usually stiffer and has less free height, so the amount of increase could even be less than that. (Meaning there is less assist from the coil spring wanting to push the vehicle upwards.) As the customer below has mentioned, you will be adding more spring rate, so that helps with handling.
