Oajenmetal threaded star type insert adapter for 1" OD round tubing, 3/8" - 16 thread, pack of 20

I purchased these to attach some 3in rubber lock casters from the hardware store to the bottom of a steel tube chair. The tubes were 1in OD 0.92in ID. The inserts are go a bit over 1/2in deep, and have 4-5 threads of engagement.These hammered in fairly easily (I was able to start them by placing one on the ground and hammering down on the pipe on top of it), and once in, they seem very solid. I was unable to get them to budge while pulling on the caster wheel I put on. I had them tack welded to the ends of the pipes for extra security since these will be on a chair for a disabled person, but I'd be confident in using them without the welds in regular applications.

I have a work table cart in my workshop that has wheels that constantly fall off. This item (along with new casters) solved this problem completely.

The threaded inserts supplied with the low-tech wire-cart and wire-shelf casters (from Brookstone #743448p) began to fall out, even after being wrapped with duct tape and pounded into the ends of the 1" o.d. shelving posts with a hammer. The new adapters are also pounded in with a hammer, but they don't fall out, and Oajen offers the best price.
