I Wanted To Love This Book
I had been looking forward to this book. The material is presented beautifully, however, the content isn't as "meaty" as I would have liked. There are sections in the book which I wish the author would have expanded more on. A controversial pattern in the knitting world was given much more credence and coverage (space) in this book than is warranted. I would have enjoyed reading more about some of the spiritual practices and "actual" designers. The patterns included are nice and interesting. I wish there would have been patterns included by some of the designers interviewed: ie., Caitlin Hunter and Kaffe Fassett. It's a nice book to have on my shelf - but again - I was hoping for so much more.

Love this!
I love this book! It is so pretty (makes a great table book) and I pick it up and read a little every day. It has everything in it that you could ever want to know about the world of knitting right now- the who's who of knitting and their stories; the yarn dyers, pattern makers, , knitting bloggers, artists and instagramers. I really am enjoying it. I think it's GREAT gift for anyone that knits. I like that it is a modern and fresh take on knitting. It also contains patterns. This book might not be what your 90yr old grandmother wants to read if she just likes to knit and turn out socks- but if you are interested in the community of knitting and the art behind the craft, this book is for you.

5 stars are simply not enough!!!
I have been a Vickie Howell fan for many years. From Knitty Gritty to her class on Craftsy now Bluprint. I’m also a YarnYay subscriber and I love her subscription box. I posted a couple of days ago that I wanted to make something easy for my granddaughter and within a couple of hours she posted patterns she thought would be perfect for her. Vickie told me that the patterns were in her new book so I decided to get it early and not wait for one of my daughters to get it for me for Christmas. I have been going through the book and I am so excited and glad that I got it early. Knit Vibe is a well written book and I didn’t expect anything else from her. Her humor and her knowledge is a gift to those of us who try to be creative with crocheting and knitting. Thank you Vickie Howell for this wonderful book and also your amazing subscription box. My 6month subscription is almost up but this time I’m going to sign up for a year. There is so much that I need to learn as far as knitting and crocheting goes but I feel that I have the best teacher to guide me to where I need to be.

A New Classic!
So...this is so much more than a pattern/instruction book. In fact, it is so unlike me to give a review, much less five stars, when I’ve already found a few typos...... just being truthful. But this book is about Fiber arts and how it fits into the lives of those who live to knit and crochet. Those accessible art crafts we love, and can’t seem to put down. Chapters on spirituality (all walks), activism, exercise and nutrition, designers, and pioneers of our craft. The author’s passion shows throughout, and the photos and book quality are more than gorgeous. So five stars and beyond - I can find thousands of patterns - this book is about love of the craft, and it’s a classic. On my shelf with EZ and my autographed Kaffe. If you know who that is.....then buy this book.

A holistic view from a knitting superstar!
This is a great book. It’s very well written and has something for everyone. I love the designer profiles and the no-judgement way she approaches other people’s spiritual views. It doesn’t hurt that she’s got excellent patterns from top designers in there either!

A Purl With No Oyster Slime
I had a ball reading this book. It was suggested to me by my alpaca Hank, who has a pattern of good recommendations. In a world full of empty oysters, The Knit Vibe is a purl. If you take the time to investigate this book you won’t be just spinning your wheels.Kidding aside, my wife (Gail) was delighted by Vickie Howell’s latest book. Gail is a YarnYAY! member and asked me to order this book with next day delivery. That next afternoon saw Gail lay aside her needles and lose herself in this collection of stories, interviews, and patterns. For me, it required often pausing the game, as Gail piped up to say, “You gotta hear this!!!” and then share an excerpt. Vickie’s wit that I remember from Knitty Gritty shone through in the parts that Gail shared with me.Gail Skiver highly recommends The Knit Vibe by Vickie Howell.

Everything you could ask for in this busy world
I originally bought the Kindle version of the book and figured I would be able to take it along if I was working on one of the many patterns in the book. While at an appointment with my Kindle it opened at the beginning of the book. I started to read and was captivated by the interviews with the designers. They were well written and just long enough to capture the attention of a busy person in this crazy world. I decided at that point I had to purchase the hard copy of the book.As stated by other reviewers the book is beautiful, colors happy and calming! I love that Vickie has given us a book that covers all of out being....the inquisitive part of our personality and the spiritual part of our being. She gets it....Knitting for me is all of that. I love the book so much that I am the proud owner of digital and paper! Anyone who loves the book as much as I do should look at YarnYay. It is a wonderful group that she started and I am a proud member of.The picture above is one of the knitting club I started at school. 28 kids in all and they all love Vickie too!

Love the inspiration
A fantastic book! The interviews showcase great designers and it gives a peek into their world.it makes me want to research more about them I love seeing the relevant topics which are happening in the world of fiber. I loved learning how such great movements came about and how It takes one idea and it can become so big. Vickie hit the mark on showing how spirituality is enmeshed with fiber. And to wrap it up with great patterns I can’t wait to put on my needles!A great book to keep me thinking and keep me inspired!
