Does the trick
Was dropping my chain quite a bit. This was easy to install and fixed the problem.

A chain catch is almost a must have on a carbon frame.
Having a chain catch is not only some insurance against reducing chain drop, it’s helps to protect your frame from the possible damage that can occur from that happening. These are light, and easy to install, and when properly set up they do a solid job of convincing your chain to jump back onto the small ring instead of falling down by your bottom bracket and possibly chewing up the frame. They are not 100% of the time going to stop it from occurring, but in my experience they stop it the majority of the time. I’ve put these on all my bikes that are compatible. Never once regretted it. Do be careful with possibly stripping the retention bolt. Probably the only negative I can say about this device.

Good protection for frame
This chain catcher is light weight and provides some protection for the bike frame. Relatively straightforward to install on front derailleur and position close to chain to avoid chain drops. A little pricey for what it is but then that seems par for the course with anything related to cycling these days and worth it to protect the frame.

Very well designed, seems to do the job. Screw head strips easily.
This chain catcher seems to be very well designed. It fits perfectly on my bike and has perfect clearance of the water bottle cage and I am able to get it within 0.5mm of the chain when it's in the small ring. I drop my chain only occasionally so I guess I won't really know how effective this thing is but if it protects my shiny new carbon frame then I am happy. My only complaint is that the screw which retains the chain catcher itself is soft and the head will strip easily. The instructions recommend a torque of 3-4 Nm for that screw, do NOT torque to that setting, you will strip the screw, hand snug is good enough and will hold the catcher in place. I used a torque wrench set to 3 Nm and as I was tightening I noticed the screw head began to deform so luckily I stopped before it was completely stripped. The larger screw which holds the derailleur does not have a problem with stripping and you can torque to the recommended 6 Nm with no problem. For your reference, front derailleur is SRAM Red AXS, great fit.

Have only had the the chain drop off when shifting onto the small ring on my Time Trial bike a couple of times, but when it happens on a race it can kill your standing. It’s most likely an operator error, but sucks when it occurs when shifting down for a uphill. Hopefully this device will prevent that from happening again. Was easy to install, just take close attention to the positioning of the front derailleur BEFORE loosening the screw. I had NO issues with either of the Allen head screws as some others have mentioned. Perhaps they were not using the proper METRIC size Allen wrench or it was worn? Time will tell how well it holds up

useless
Looks great, lightweight, does not stop chain from dropping. This is on a Specialized Diverge with the OEM Praxis rings, which have very suspicious ramps. The chain drops (a lot) when moving from small to big ring, and no amount of adjusting helps. Replaced the stock 105 RD with a GRX with the hopes that the clutch will provide some tension to stop the derails. It helps a bit, but not completely. I'll be replacing the rings and crankset with GRX bits to see if that helps. But, the point of a chain catcher is to not care about any of these headaches and simply stop the chain from dropping no matter what. We perfectly adjusted it so it's flush with the inside of the chain when it's on the small ring. A short test ride after, and hey presto: chain drops.I guess I could use it as a Christmas Tree ornament, but it will annoy me when I see it. Maybe I can put it on the back side of the tree near the floor so my cats can beat the $hit out of it.

Get a shop to install
I tried installing myself and threw out the derailer alignment. I got my shop to install and only took one ride so far. I already dropped the chain before and scratched that nice black paint job and carbon fibre! I got this to prevent any future drops and damage !Good insurance for future ride. It also looks nice and feels like good quality.

Perfecto
