Carl15052 Bidex 1 Deckle/1 Victorian Blade Set for Personal/Professional Rotary Trimmers - Blue

I purchased the CARL Professional Rotary Paper Trimmer 18 inch with all the replacement blades and extra cutting mats as a gift and the recipient has now used the unit heavily for a respectable amount of time and absolutely adores it. I carefully researched paper trimmers online for quite a while before making my final decision and I'll admit that I was a bit hesitant considering some of the negative reviews I was seeing about this particular company, but I proceeded because I was attracted by the number of accessories available for this series. I figured it was worth the risk. Well, I'm pleased I made the decision I made because it has already paid for itself over and over again in the quality of its construction and performance and the joy my gift recipient is getting from it. I would purchase another CARL product again in a heartbeat.

It was worth a try, I suppose. But, I am disappointed because these wheels will only cut through thin paper. I was hoping to create a deckle edge on watercolor paper. No can do with this, no matter how hard I push. And, even on regular paper, the wheel does not moves smoothly and it seems one section of the wheel does not cut at all. I regret my purchase.

I have an old Carl RT 200. The blades worked very well. I just have to press down firmly.

Excellent product and authentic looking deckle edge. Cuts smoothly with a little added pressure. Gives a nice vintage look to your photos.

I read the reviews on how these blades didn’t cut. I found this to be true. They are useless. Just placed a call directly to the company (Carl). They are looking into it. Said they will test out some they have there to make sure they work properly and send me replacements. Really hope the new ones will work.

Since I have the Carl Paper trimmer, and like it, I want to be able to get more blades. These are perfect!
