Q: after it has bloomed - can you plant it in the yard?

You can try, but because of the wax treatment we do not think it will do well.

Q: what happens after the flower dies. Do I cut it back at the base?

You can cut it but if it is like so many others I’ve bought....they will only bloom once. Leaves will grow back but flowering bloom has never come back.

Q: How does waxed bulb keep from freezing?

It is an indoor bulb that blooms to enjoy in the heated home .... my daughter keeps on the kitchen windowsill..., still blooming
