Shepherd's Purse (Capsella Bursa-Pastoris) is an annual herbaceous plant up to 20-30 cm tall (sometimes up to 60 cm), with a spindle-shaped thin root. The stem is simple or branched, erect, bearing a long brush of small flowers. Inflorescence is a brush that is greatly lengthened during fruiting. The fruit is a pod; reverse triangular heart-shaped, 5-8 mm long at the apex. Seeds are small, more than eight in each nest, ellipsoid, oblate, brown in color. Shepherd's Purse blooms from April to autumn, bears fruit throughout the growing season, starting in May.
