I was taking a chance in preordering this as I have purchased quite a few art project books that are too cutesy crafty or just not well done overall.Not this book. It is lovely, well done, and the projects are inspiring and open ended in a way that personal artistry is encouraged. Love the techniques and I really love that the author/artist included the sketches & images that inspired the projects. I’m super happy with this book!

I have worked with metal cloth and shim, as well as various other mixed media for over 10 years in my art quilting. This book provides new techniques, good explanations and inspirational pictures. Alysn presents the techniques with an historic reference, then she shows how to translate that into today’s materials and aesthetic. It may not be for beginners, but Alysn’s book is right up my alley, and I’m so glad I bought it!

This book is so cool. It opened my eyes to some great new mediums - namely thing metals - that can be added to my artwork. Happy I ordered it and can't wait to try some things out this weekend!

Yes, it’s beautiful, but it’s not just eye-candy. I found it inspiring and wonderfully motivating!

I like that I can make 3 D items that can hold materials, or just look very ornamental. I used some wire containers and covered them with cloth, beads, and other materials and like them more now.
