I ordered this to celebrate my first paycheck at my first real job and it was a great decision. It arrived in a very reasonable amount of time and was a blast to assemble and play. The separatist units were quite challenging to assemble but very satisfying and good for my ADHD as it kept my fingers busy. As for gameplay, I actually prefer the separatists as I find a slight masochistic humor in the rolls with the B1 Battle Droid units. On top of that the droidekas are a lovely unit with an amazing damage output and absurd defensive abilities. While I do prefer playing Obi-Wan to Grievous, the tradeoff for the fun and quality of the non-commanders is more than worth having a less fun commander. Drawbacks are, this isn’t much of a family-oriented experience as it is, for the most part, wholly a tactical game, so a small child in the house could feel left out. As mentioned before, many of the miniatures are challenging, which comes with a fragility most children won’t be able to properly respect as well as many choking hazards if you try to assemble it with them. The game also requires you to actively remain aware of several factors at once to play efficiently. If you do not have children around and do not mind games that require focus and attention this will not be a problem however. As for requested keywords from Amazon, “giftable” is very fitting. Any older teen to adult Star Wars fan who enjoys strategy games would love this. As for value for money, it’s excellent, there are so many miniatures to assemble, I had to spend about a week just prepping the miniatures, which was a lovely experience in itself. Finally, thickness. The box was quite thick I suppose.

I’m a modeler, not a gamer, but this is one of the most enjoyable models I’ve done in a while. There’s not a lot of parts to the kit, but it more than makes up for its simplicity with a ton of surface detail that begs to be brought out with painting. The assembly is mostly snap-together, with sturdy attachment pegs that allow for strength enough for a good amount of handling during gameplay. No decals are included, but this wasn’t a big deal for me; I used some red stripes from a railroad decal sheet and some extras from my parts box to make my own imagined scheme based off the box art. Scale works out to be about 1/43, making it on the larger end of most game pieces I’ve seen, but a nice size for a static model. Overall, I’m very pleased with the kit and it makes me want to do others from this series.

My son and I have had a lot of fun playing this game! It's easy to learn and additional sets are easy to mix in. The details on the figures are well done and the durability of each miniature is top notch as long as it's assembled with the proper adhesive.

The starter box comes with all the essentials you need to play the game. A rule book, dice, a ruler, and of course models! Some of the miniatures are not easy to assemble like Games Workshop models, but the detail is great and the rules are pretty easy to follow. A word to the wise, the game itself has a lot cards and tokens to keep track of, which can clutter the “field of battle”. Overall it is a good game for a good price compared to their competitor.

The game is very fun and not to hard to learn. The minis are good quality but the droids are easy to break so you have to be careful. The clones are very easy to put together, and the BARC speeder is not very hard. The droids on the other hand are the reason I didn't give this 5 stars. They are very annoying to put together because they are so small and you can't put them together without superglue. If you are going to buy this you will defiantly need superglue and a pair of clippers. Overall this is worth the money and it is very fun to play, just the droids are insanely hard to assemble, and you will need patience to do this. I would recommend this as a Christmas gift for someone over the age of 8 because the pieces are very small. Overall this was a great game and I would recommend it, if you have the patience to assemble it.

The item arrived on time. The packaging was good except one of the clone trooper’s helmet was messed up and looked like it actually was hit with blaster fire. And you can’t ask Fantasy Flight to send just a helmet, you HAVE to send the whole box back to the retailer. We didn’t because it was the only thing wrong. I had already glued the battle droids together and that is a painstaking process. Whoever the game is fun and my 10 year old loves to play it. It does stink you have to paint each figure but that has been something my son and I have been doing together. Overall l, the game is fun and takes time to learn. You could watch the videos off YouTube for a better understanding of the rules.

The product was good!

This is a beautiful set of figures, complete with data cards and other things to include in the game. However, my review is based around being a figure painter and not a gamer, so please bear with me. The figures come on a very nice sprue, with numbered parts, and so easy to follow with the instructions. Also, you get extra arms for the figure, so you can make one of the action poses even more dynamic by adding a second lightsaber wielding pose, with a little fiddling and filling of gaps :-) This is the second time I've done these figures, but my first time building and painting them for my own collection, so I went with the Force wielding and walking stick pose as shown in the box and instructions, and a single weapon wielding pose for the leaping figure. One thing I learned early on is to rock formation the leaping figure is shown on by gluing the main part to a base first, then carefully gluing the second part to it, and leave it to set before adding the leg piece (This will take some patience, too, even if using super glue, as it slips slightly under pressure). The rest of the parts go together very well, and you even get spare heads on the sprue, with some nice expressions on the faces, so there's even more choice value there :-) I didn't use the blank bases that come in the box, as I wanted to use some spare resin scenic bases, so have two extra blank bases now to use for other figures, so happy days with that little addition to my collection of spare bases. The artwork on the box and the game sheets is wonderful, very high quality, and gives a good idea for how to paint the robes and the lightsaber, with areas showing Object Source Lighting if you want to paint that effect for that little extra "oomph" on the figure. Absolutely beautiful when assembled, with plenty of space to get the inner sides of the robes painted, and wonderful detail on the faces, hands and feet, and even hair to paint, so I am very eager to get down to painting these figures again, and seeing the finished product among my growing collection. My only complaint is the three part base, which can be very fiddly to assemble if you're not used to building models this small, and could have been better cast as just a two-part piece, but that's the only minor complaint I could come up with, as these figures are just so beautiful for their small size, packed with character, and a joy to paint when assembled/primed. I'm going to see what other figures are available in this game range, and start adding them to my collection soon :-)
