Don't Believe Everything You Read
This book might be taken as an entertaining history of Halloween Horror Nights. In this, it succeeds for years 1993 through about 2005. However, the formative years, 1991's Fright Nights, and 1992's "second annual HHN", are poorly researched, speculative, and in many cases outright wrong. This is too bad, because to really understand how this very interesting event evolved, its formative years are key. The real story of the first two years is actually far more interesting than the book. I know, I was there.

Fascinating look at the origins and development of this amazing Halloween event
Fascinating look at the origins and development of this amazing Halloween event. I really enjoyed learning about previous years I was unable to attend, and getting a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the design process. Towards the end, it felt more like bullet-pointing the different houses and themes instead of the detailed looks at earlier years, and there were a surprising amount of type errors. Overall, a definite MUST-HAVE for any Halloween Horror Nights fan. For anyone who's never been to this event, you should check out this guide and see all the awesomeness you're missing!

Cool... but needs editing.
There's some great information that I didn't know before in this book. I was really interested in knowing what happened each year to see how the event has progressed. But the spelling and grammatical errors are killing me. I have to read sentences over and over again to try to understand what the writer meant. Sometimes I stop completely and have to recover from how poorly written this is. It's great stuff, but this is what editors are for.

Good history on HHN in Orlando
Good history on HHN in Orlando. However, there are too many spelling and grammatical errors in this story. The errors end up pushing the reader out of the story. There are sentences that don't make sense and seem to be missing words along with names spelled differently from chapter to chapter. If you love HHN, have money to spend and don't mind reading a book with numerous errors through the pages, then this book is for you.

I am a little disappointed that this was not exactly what I was looking ...
I wish that the description specified that this book is mostly focused on the Orlando HHN. I was looking for more about Hollywood HHN. It still has some interesting information. I am a little disappointed that this was not exactly what I was looking for.

Not Good
Book reads like a 5 year old wrote it. Tons of spelling and grammatical errors. The names of certain shows are spelled differently in different chapters. There is some good information, however there isn't anything that can't already be found online. Very dissapointed, I was expecting something a lot better out of this book.
