Exceptional value and quality.
The Astro 204 ONYX 1/4" 90 Degree Angle Grinder is a powerful and compact tool that’s perfect for tight spaces and detailed grinding work. One of its standout features is the rear exhaust, which directs air away from the work surface and the user. This is a great design feature, as it helps keep the work area clean and ensures that dust and debris don't blow into your face while using the tool.In terms of performance, this grinder is surprisingly quiet for its power level. Even during extended use, the noise is minimal compared to many other grinders on the market, making it a great choice for anyone working in noise-sensitive environments or simply looking to reduce the ear fatigue that comes with louder tools. Despite its quiet operation, it doesn’t sacrifice on power. The grinder delivers smooth, consistent performance, handling various tasks like grinding, deburring, and polishing with ease. Its compact design and 90-degree angle make it highly maneuverable, perfect for working in tight spaces or awkward angles. The tool feels comfortable to use over long periods without excessive vibration, which adds to the overall user experience.Overall, the Astro 204 ONYX 90 Degree Angle Grinder offers excellent performance with the added benefits of a rear exhaust and quiet operation. Whether you’re a professional or a hobbyist, this tool is a reliable and efficient addition to your toolkit. Highly recommended for those who need precision and comfort in their grinding tasks.

Outstanding tool
I use this tool daily in a production facility, along with the straight model. It's worked flawlessly for over a year now and is frequently used by coworkers instead of their own tool truck models (multiple different brands). Lots of power, very little vibration or noise, and always reliable. Kudos to Astro for making an outstanding product.

Darn good!
Works great! Not an air hog like my old no named brand. My buddies all think it’s really good too. Can’t say it’s the best ever but for the price I’m very happy with it.

Very nice affordable die grinder
Nice grinder. Build quality was evenbetter than I’d expected for the price, although I knew it would be good quality because Astro tools always seem to be a great value. The rubber grip feels good in the hand with or without gloves on and should definitely help reduce hand & arm fatigue. Noise level is surprisingly quiet for a budget grinder too. The only con is it’s not super powerful. I’m an auto collision repair tech and this works well for removing paint and coatings with a roloc disc or stripper wheel. It’s a bit underpowered for weld grinding with a 3” roloc so I have another grinder set up for that.Edit: I found that this grinder actually works pretty well for grinding welds using the 2” 24 grit roloc discs, which I have come to prefer over the 3” discs anyway. When I have a ton of welds to grind down the comfortable grip and reasonable noise level are really nice to have, so I’ve been using this grinder more and more even though I could choose to grab my more powerful one that lacks those features.

Great Value!
Great grinder! Low noise level and uses less air than my old cheap grinder. The grip fits my hands easily. I would buy it again!

High quality, feels and looks good, efficient with power.
I'm comparing this to cheap Harbor Freight die grinders and air powered cutoff wheels that that are air hogs and get so bogged down they are slow and frustrating to use. I can't speak for the higher levels of HF die grinders, but skip the cheapest ones. In comparison this Astro Onyx angled air grinder (with added roloc attachments) is easy to control at different speeds, is efficient with air, comfortable to hold, and generally gets the job done. With 2 inch roloc sanding disks this is 1000x better than the combination of hand sanding, 4.5" electric angle grinder w/sanding pad, or dremels that I was previously using in my application. I'm running it with a Quincy 20 gal compressor that puts out something like 7.2 CFM @ 90 psi and have had no trouble running out of air. The compressor will kick on after 20-30 seconds but I haven't had a pressure drop off while the compressor is running. I've been using this to sand SMC and structural adhesives which are both pretty easy to sand and don't require running continuously for more than a couple minutes at a time.

Superb
I'm a dealer tech in New England, I'm cleaning rust every day. Caliper brackets, hub faces, you name it. These Onyx tools are as good as the best big name and the price is unbeatable. A big difference is that the exhaust is somehow just barely muffled and it creates this cool little Jetsons noise when you let off the throttle. My shops air PSI is limited to 120 but a tad higher and these would be downright dangerous.

Excelente!

Shop Tested and Approved
I bought 2 of these for Shop use doing heavy fabrication on plastic. I use this all the time and after 4 months of heavy use i can finally weigh in on these grinders. So far they hold up very well and haven't produced the high pitched whine. Everyone in my shop borrows my grinders because of how quiet they are and comfortable. These are even more preferred then the 250$ red Chicago and outlasted 4 of our shops other grinders purchased at the same time! It doesn't come with the hardware to use scotch bright pads, but you can fabricate your own I used a m screw and just grounded off the head so it fits. The other grinder is used exclusively for straight bits so i don't have to switch them out.10/10 would recommend for heavy shop use (don't forget to lubricate) I'm thinking of buying 1 or two more so i don't have to change bits. The trigger needs a bit of break in, nothing a full day of use won't fix

Won't start half the time, safety jams
Rust and grit rapidly scuff up the safety mechanism making it stuff to operate. Half the time, even with full pressure and high flow V fittings, it just hisses and won't rotate. Sometimes you can spin it by hand to get it going, other times, just wait a few minutes and try again.I will have to look for something more reliable.
