Excited to try so many yummy recipes
My mom has always been interested in trying to get in & I have always been interested in seeing how canning foods actually works. So when I was offered the chance to recieve this book at no cost, in exchange for my unbiased, honest product review I happily accepted. I love that this book starts out right away telling you of the essential equipment items you will need to successful can foods. I did not know that there are certain items necessary or canning pretty much can not happen. I also like that the book also provides illustrations of the items so you know what to look for in the stores. Next, it discusses the ingrediant pectin, as well as provides you with a pectin base recipe. It also discusses sugar & salt canning, as well as tips & tricks before going into the specific recipes. I like that they tell you those because your first few tries if your new to the technieque most likely wont be perfect. But with the information provided there will be less frustration & more understanding of what went wrong if something doesnt set or seal as planned. As the book title says, there are over 100 individual recipes. They range from jams & jellys, to pickled food items. I was suprised to see that there is even cheese & butter recipes, I guess when I like of canned items I think jelly and beans haha. There is also stew & soup type recipes provided. My favorite section was the jam & jelly recipes. I love sweet things & love jelly on toast & bagels. My mom was interested in everything because she loves to cook & loves to try new & exciting thengs more then I do. I cant wait to try & make my own grape jelly, the lemon-raspberry syrup, & the spiced apple butter. Those sound so good! My mom wants to try those forst to then move into the savory type foods that she likes best. I am so glad I was given this book because these recipes will be fun summer & winter activites for us to do together when I am on break from school & home visiting. The items we make can also make great gifts for loved ones to try.

Great for begginers
I really enjoyed getting to read this book. I like how it goes through the history of canning, the types, and the items needed to can, and also typical basic ingredients you will need. I have a friend who cannes all her own vegetables and was always interested in learning myself. I love how easy this book is to follow and how it starts off with easy recipes. I like how the recipes are easy to follow for a beginner, such as myself. It tells you exactly how to handle the product as well as what goes into the jar. It even goes over how to safely handle the jars. My parents have a garden and they are always giving away the fruits and vegetables they grow because they can't eat them fast enough before they go bad. Now, my mother and I are going to start canning together so we can have their grown produce year round. I can't wait to get my canning set in and start canning, and this book will make it so much easier! There is a great assortment of recipes so there is definitely some we will all like. One thing that is really useful about this book is that the chapters are broken down by the type of product, such as jellies, butters, salsa, etc. I had no idea you could can so much stuff and make so many different recipes!I received this product in exchange for an honest review. All opinion are my own.

You Can Learn to Can!
I have been pretty interested in learning to can for a while now. I have friends and family members who do it, and all of the Pinterest and other social media posts definitely motivate me to try it....for about 3 minutes. The problem is that I always think it'll be too much work and not enough 'reward'. But, when I saw the "DIY Canning: Over 100 Small-Batch Recipes for All Seasons" e-book, I decided to educate myself a little more before either writing it off completely or jumping right in.This book has everything you need to prepare yourself for canning, except the actual tools. I was pretty happy to learn that you could can more than jams & jellies and fruit & vegetables, which are the first things that come to my mind when I think of canning.I found the overview of the two canning processes especially useful, as was the input that you really don't need to break the bank in order to being your canning adventures since you really need very little to begin.I am fighting the urge (because I know I don't have the free time) to document my adventures trying each of the recipes in this book. The only recipes I would attempt are the pickling ones, but that is a personal taste thing. If I liked pickled items, I'd pickle away!Overall, I found this book to be a great resource for beginners (or those interested in beginning, like me) that want to learn more about canning. After reading the book, I have decided the work is definitely worth it, and I will be having some canning adventures with my family this summer. I'm already dreaming of peaches in the winter!Full Disclosure- I received a copy of this e-book in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are 100% my own and your experience might be different.

Great value and no frills recipes
This book seems excellent value for the price. I have preserved food for quite a few years but this book has some great looking recipes as well as the basics. No frills instructions and straight forward. Can't wait for our harvest to start so I can get preserving using the recipes in this book.
