DonJoy Reaction Compression Support: Knee Brace Undersleeve, XX-Large

I have thoroughly tested both Donjoy hinged knee brace under-sleeves available on amazon (hereafter "CP" for undersleeve closed patella, "RC," this product, for reaction compression). For both sleeves, make sure you're not squeezing your leg as you measure and go with the tighter of the two sizes if you're stuck in between. The major difference between the two is that the CP sleeve is made out of soft camisole/long-john material whereas this RC sleeve is made out of thin legging material with rubberized grips on the inside seams. I can't say either sleeve is perfect, but they're a million times better than wearing the bare-bones brace. While I think both sleeves are solid, if I had to pick here are the categories I've found important and which sleeve I think is BETTER for each:- Holding up the brace securely: RC sleeve- Minimizing adjustments throughout the day: RC sleeve- Overall comfort: CP sleeve- Minimizing skin/scar irritation: CP sleeve- Sweat practicality: RC sleeve, it allows sweat to transfer thru brace faster but overall dries faster and feels cleaner. If you sweat a decent amount, both sleeves will ultimately transfer sweat to the brace anyways.- For use during PT/gym: RC sleeveOverall: RC sleeveBOTTOM LINE/TLDR: If you have the misfortune of clickity-clacking around in one of these damn hinged knee braces, GET A SLEEVE. Of the Donjoy sleeves, the RC sleeve (this product) is more functional and practical for me, particularly as someone who sweats a lot and wears my brace to the gym. The CP sleeve is overall much more comfortable and sustainable to wear throughout a long day. My two cents- get yourself one of each. Wear the CP for relaxed days or office-work kinda days and the RC for exercise or any particularly daunting or sweaty outings for the day. If you feel either of these is vastly better for you, I'd still recommend you get two for laundering ease and quick switcheroos on the go.

This was a great sleeve for the first three weeks. After that it made my brace slip down to my ankle. I was careful to follow the washing instructions. I let it air dry after washing it in cold water in a small garmet wash bag with the rest of my clothes.

I use this as a cover over my coarse slim brace to make it comfortable under pants or dresses - and as a liner under my large structured brace. It is soft and slick serving both purposes perfectly. The grip top holds in place without cutting off circulation or leaving heavy lines. Highly recommended for either purpose.

It won't stay put. It starts rolling down as soon as I start putting my unloader brace on. Not very comfortable after a day of work. It's not returnable. The thing is not very good quality and you're stuck with it.

I love this undersleeve. I use this daily for support after major ligament reconstruction on my knee. I do not have the reaction brace, but this sleeve provides a nice compression. I use it in the pool while practicing my range of motion exercises because I have less pain when I apply mild compression to my knee. Just rinse and and hang to dry and it is dry very quickly. Thanks to this I no longer have to wear ace wraps. The thigh part has rubber like stickers to help it stay in place. They are not uncomfortable as I thought they would be, and it stays in place just fine.

I do not have a Don Joy brace but another ACL brace and was having issues with chaffing in a couple places when running, so I selected this undersleeve after reading some of the reviews and I couldn’t be happier. If fits perfectly and I ordered the size as indicated from the size chart. The sleeve stays in place, prevents the chaffing, and actually keeps the brace in place so much better than wearing it without it. I highly recommend this sleeve to anyone in need of an undersleeve.

I read that you should order a size up from your brace, however; this is not true. Get the same size as your brace. Also if you are using a bigger brace for football or such sports get another sleeve!
