It does it's job well
I bought this USA Gear photography backpack a month ago. I wanted to use it for a while before I wrote a review on it so I know how well it works in the real world after it is broken in a little bit. I have been very pleased with it’s performance. The zippers are very easy to zip, the pockets are very accessible, and it fits in well with my life of multitasking. The build quality is good especially for the price I paid for it. I have only owned it for a month, but I plan on having it for a long time.I am happy with the compartments in the bag. One for lenses and bodies with separators to keep contents secure, and a completely separate compartment for other goods like extra batteries, a book or journal, snacks, your hard drive, or really anything else. It is completely closed off from the part that holds my expensive stuff which I really appreciate. The laptop compartment is perfectly placed and very easy to access. I use a 15 inch laptop and it fits with plenty of room to spare, although I don’t think a 17 inch laptop would fit. The small zipped compartment on the front of the bag is just large enough to hold a couple memory cards and a USB drive which works very well.I am a relatively new photographer and don’t have as much gear as other photographers that I know, so this smaller compartment for cameras and lenses works well for me. I carry 3-4 lenses in this bag and one body. There isn’t much extra space unless you are willing to have some of the gear move around since there aren’t any extra dividers that come with the bag.The bag seems to resist moisture pretty well, but in case of emergencies, it does come with a rain cover. It seems easy enough to access, but I have not tried to pack it back into it’s storage compartment. The bottle holder or tripod holder on the side of the bag seems to work well for small tripods, but not well for most water bottles. I have to clip my water bottle to the tripod holder strap to make sure it doesn’t fall out each time I pick up or put down the bag. What I do not like is the amount of separators in the camera compartment. I would appreciate more of them so that I could customize the space more. Also, as I buy better gear, I will buy a bag that has more pitch, or is deeper. I have a small crop body now and it fits just fine, but I wouldn’t feel comfortable keeping a Nikon D5 in there. Again, it works just fine for mine and almost every other camera, but I would prefer a deeper compartment.Another negative is the straps. The bag has straps that buckle around your hips which make long hikes very nice on your shoulders. However, most of the time, I am carrying this bag for no more than 30 minutes and don’t feel the need to buckle those straps. There is no way to detach these and they are very long, so they dangle pretty low.Overall, I am very pleased with this bag. It has lived up and exceeded my expectations especially for the price I paid for it. It seems to do it’s job just as well or better than comparable bags that are 2-3 times more expensive.

Really nice sort of 3/4 size camera bag!! I really like this one!!!
This is actually a great camera bag, especially for is reasonable price.I have a larger bag that holds a bit more but I didn't like lugging that around too much. I wanted something that would carry a lot of gear but also, specifically, had another section/pocket for a few other items. This bag does that. I can easily get my DSLR with a lens, 3 other lens and a flash all in the main compartment of this bag. The couple of other small pockets hold batts and a couple SD cards. Then I have that nice top compartment for a strap, couple cleaning things and a decent sized lunch. There's a decent pocket for a water bottle too. Then, don't forget, you have the padded tablet pocket too. I can get a couple of bounce reflectors for my flash and my tablet in there with ease. This bag really seems to be made of quality material and assembled well. The padding for the camera and lenses is good, and adjustable. Having the side and main access points both is very nice. The straps are comfortable and you have the waist strap too and then padding in the back for your back. And, last but not least, this is actually a very nice looking bag.Be it for a main bag or sort of a 3/4 size additional bag as I use it, I don't think you would be disappointed with this one. In fact, this has become my main bag and the name brand bigger one only goes out when I have to have a little more room...which isn't often.Recommended!!!!!!

It is a great product
I love this bag! I have taken it on two hikes now and it is so much better than my other bag. First off it the bag its self is very light, a lot lighter than I was expecting. The material is great and the pads in the camera compartment are really high quality. I really like the compartment on top it holds a lot more than you would think when you are first looking at it. This is an absolute STEAL of a deal for the quality of the features for the price.Cons :- There is no second water bottle slot or attachment point if you are carrying a tripod.- There is no way to secure the zippers : I am going to Arizona and Mexico later this year and I do not want any of my equipment pitpocketd. I am planning on just using black electrical tape to hold down the zippers but I still wish there was a way to use mini locks or something to that effect.-The lens / camera area is too shallow (going up and down from the back to the front) to put anything bigger than a 70 - 300mm lens unless it is the lens attached to your camera. If it is bigger than that it bulges slightly ( but more than I am comfortable with ) it seems like if it is bumped into it will not be protected enough and we all know we do not want our precious, sacred, and extremely expensive lenses being damaged.Pros :- Straps are very comfortable and the straps are very adjustable, ( TIP for this bag : I finally figured out that when you don't want to use the waist straps you can tuck it behind the back padding )- Excellent material and zipper quality : the zippers are very sturdy, I have had ones where the zippers were kind of flimsy and it really made things a lot worse from carrying the bag and just getting it opened and closed quickly and nicely.- Big general space for extra equipment and or anything else you want or need to bring- The cover stores nicely and out of the way without taking up any room- The bag has and seems like it will hold its shape very nicely- The side pocket is very convenient ( with a longer lens it feels a little awkward pulling it out )- There are pockets on the inside of the flap for the camera compartment that are wonderful, they hold so much for how small they are / appear to be
