Great product and service
I've had Kidde smoke alarms in three homes. They work fine (sometimes too fine for the one nearest the kitchen :-)). When replacing a battery, be sure to use an Eveready or Duracell. Cheaper ones will not work and the detector will chirp with low battery indicator.EttersSupplyCompanyllc provided good communication when I had a question. I recommend product and seller.

Replacement smoke detector
Unit itself is good, simple and dependable so far. Although the model # was the same as the old unit, the baseplate is a bit different and required redrilling. The shipping packaging (boxes in a plastic bag) is rather flimsy--something a bit more substantial would protect the units better.

Nice alarm
Unlike other fire alarms I've used, the battery is accessible without taking down the alarm. Nice! I've also used Kidde before and they work well. Only problem I had was that the mounting screws were hidden inside the unit, and I didn't find them until too late.

Loud when Tested and Easy to Mount
I don't think I'm qualified to say whether these are useful in a fire emergency. I bought a few because the reviews were decent, they are cheaper priced, and I wanted to get at least 3 for starters. The included battery is easy to put in, they are easy to test, loud when tested, mounting them onto the ceiling isn't hard so long as you have a basic drill, drill bit, screwdriver, a pen, and step-stool.The other stuff is included well: the actual alarm, the mounting-thingy that it reverse spins into, the two screws, the two drywall anchors, white thingy, a 9V battery, paperwork. How well it actually detects smoke, I can't say. Which yeah, sounds like I am absolutely wasting your time, but I don't feel like starting minor fires to test it.But yeah, easy to install and the button test of the alarm is loud.

GO OFF ALL THE TIME FOR NO REASON !!!
This WOULD BE A GOOD, LOUD SMOKE ALARM EXCEPT , it goes off all the time for no reason . I got two when I bought them and not long after installing one went off ( alarmed ) with no reason . I placed the other one in the same spot and in only a few minutes it did the same . The batteries were new . It tested good . They just goes off for no reason . Just now I had one in place , was watching TV and had a window air conditioner turned on . The alarm began . I had to take it down . If air from an air conditioner causes them to alarm , what the hell can you do ? It’s summer and the air needs on around the clock , but these things will wake you from a peaceful sleep with nothing more than having the air conditioner on . It’s good they will wake you , but they are supposed to do so if you have a fire , not from trying to keep cool on a hot GA night . They have a warranty which is still in affect ad I only ordered them three months or so ago , but when you buy through Amazon , who do you complain too ? Amazon should refund one’s money on these . I will need to find another brand to be protected . It’s all a lot of crap and I would advise anyone considering this brand to forget it and purchase any other brand .

Great Little Alarm!
I love this little smoke alarm. I am always very protective about having working smoke alarms in the house anyway, but recently we had a house fire very near to us. Our neighbor's hot water heater malfunctioned in the middle of the night. Her house caught fire, she didn't have a working smoke alarm, and she had three dogs. One of them didn't make it out. She was very fortunate to make it out for that matter. Our regular smoke alarms are too high for me to reach on a regular basis, but I wanted one to do regular fire drills (we did them when our kids were at home), but now we just have two dogs and I wanted them to be used to knowing what to do if the alarms sounded - how to get out and away from the house instead of hiding under a bed (our neighbor lady's dog hid under the bed during the fire). My husband mounted this alarm where I can reach it easily and I do drills a couple times a week. Now whenever the dogs hear it they run outside to the far gate (they know they will get a treat), but if there ever is a fire they will also run outside and not be burned up! This little alarm is loud and works well. One day when I was cooking in the kitchen and my pan got too hot before I had the next french toast to go in, the alarm went off before the others in the house (and my two dogs went running out to the far gate! - I had to turn off the stove and go get the treats, LOL!).
