Corelle Service for 6, Chip Resistant Dinnerware Set, 18-Piece, Lia

I was skeptical about switching from ceramic dinnerware to Corelle because, while I liked the solid feel of ceramic, I was tired of the chipping in the dishwasher and occasional oops of something falling into the sink, on a ceramic plate, and it was a plate no more; Corelle in the past seemed so lightweight and thin, they were like a play teacup party set. I have been pleasantly surprised. Their feel is solid, while their weight is light. The weight is not too light, as to suggest play teacup party set, but the right balance to provide a confidence when handling. The color accent on the plates is taking some time to get used to; not for the reasons you may expect. The accent lines have a different texture to them, than the plate themselves. While scraping up those last morsels of egg yolk from the plate, your fork meets those lines with a grittiness you can feel. Did I just scrape off some of the paint, you repeatedly ask yourself. Your fork goes from silky smooth Corelle glass to a unexpected cacophony of texture and friction. I am loving them. Gained a lot of space in the cabinets, but other than making it easier to store and retrieve the bowls, it really does not do me any favors.

Like the square format, modern design. Small plates are rather large, which is good in expanding the number of larger size plates but sometimes you just want a small one. It would be nice if they had a third size to add to the set. I do really like them but have concerns about how hot the plate gets both in coming out of the microwave but also when placing hot food on the plate. It really retains the heat and is a bit unsafe on hands. Okay if you’re setting it directly on the table but we like use while holding them in the living room. Have had other Corelle plates before and never had this feeling that it radiates too much heat. But, other than that, I do really like the set!

These dishes deserve all of the stars. They are awesome, we can fit a ton into our dishwasher, they have been dropped on tile floor and concrete and no breaks so far. I have only had them a month and have convinced a few people to get them.

So far we are happy with the set however 1 of the bowls arrived broken and it's not worth the hassle to return a whole set for 1 broken bowl. Really wish the seller could just replace the 1 bowl without us then having to return a full set.

These plates are going to last for quite a long time given they are taken care of some what. I've accidentally knocked a glass mug against a plate and what I would say would crack other plates doesn't even chip these.

I LOVE the design and lightness of these plates. Never got when they come out of the microwave and no chips from stacking or accidentally bumping them. This set is so great I and going to buy another! You really don't know/own dinnerware until you've have Corelle.

It was nice to replace my old heavy dishes with a light weight set of Corelle in a modern design. They arrived in perfect condition and on the day they were expected.
