Used to fix extension cord across floor/under carpet issue and ended up working perfectly for Hurricane Irma power outage.
This worked out perfectly for my project. I had two lamps in my living room and i didn't want to run extension cords across floor. I took to the internet for ideas. Also this worked out very well because we lost power during hurricane Irma and this made my project worthwhile.1. Purchase 8x AA 12v Batter case holder (8-AA = 12Votls = enough to power one of the bulbs). *see #3*2. Purchase 30 pack AA Duracell Quantum batteries (they claim longest life of batteries)3. Purchase Chi Chin lighting bulbs (12V led bulb - 7 watts 500 lumens G50/E26/E27/)4. Lamp (To make battery powered since I didn't want extension cords all over floor or under carpet)5. Wire cutter/stripper6. *Soldering Iron and Solder (*If wires not soldered good - depends some battery holder cases are poorly soldered).7. Razor blade8. Electrical tape9. 3M Velcro picture hanging strips (to attach battery holder case in a place people will not see).Find a lamp, screw in the Chi Chin 7 watt bulb. then use your wire cutter/stripper and cut the plug end of the lamp cord. Strip the end of the wires (maybe 1/4" or less) and separate the lamp wire you just cut the plug end off into two separate wires with a razor blade (pull wires apart about 3"inches in length) for this project it does not matter which stripped and split wire from lamp to connect to the battery holder box red or black wire. just connect one wire to red and one to black. Insert your 8-AA batteries in the holder box close lid (online said you can use an eyeglasses repair kit screw to keep box closed or tape shut (so it doesn't come loose). now turn on the light switch and you now have a lamp that lights up as if it was plugged into a socket. ***side note, leave the battery pack switch ON and use the lamps On/Off switch to control the power to the light*******I did this to solve the extension cord across the floor/under carpet issue but due to Hurricane Irma, we lost power and this worked perfectly. Because the bulbs only use 7 watts with the Duracell Quantum batteries this thing can last for a long time. We had these in use for over 10 hours and running strong.I have added pictures to see it setup and how i hid the battery pack. My neighbors now asking me to show them how to make this or make it for them.

Fit my design needs quite nicely
I design and fabricate electronic wearables. Heated gloves for the working person. Cooling jacket for those out in the desert sun. Prior to finding this product I was using 6 AA cells as power source and wanted to use 8 for extended operating times. I was finding only the typical 2 sided battery holder which was to large to fit inside the 1"x2 1/2"x 4" enclosures that I use. There are single sided 8 cell holders but it was still a problem to find a compact enclosure for them. With this item, I have room for 8 cells in a slim compact enclosure which also has an on/off switch.

Good stuff.
I used this holder box in a few electronic circuit projects, and haven't had any issues except for part of the plastic cover near the door cracking on me when I was struggling to remove batteries from the box. Yeah, these could be a touch more durable but for the price, I don't hold that against it. The holder box still works fine despite the cracked piece anyway.

A nice little battery box
This battery box has thinner cables than I expected, but works for my intended to use case (a packable 12v automotive parts tester). The first box is holding up well with light (<1.5 amp) loads for a few seconds, but it is convenient to have a spare with this 2 piece kit.

Overall good value even with the occasional bad switch
About one in twenty will have a switch that doesn’t work, but the value for the money is still worth it.

Great value
Used one of these to replace a corded proprietary battery pack for some window blinds that was over 10x more expensive. I was able to mount this out of sight behind the curtains, spliced it into the wires and it worked like a charm. Both are 12v (8x1.5v AA) so it was an easy swap. No idea what I’m going to do with the second one but I have a spare at least.
