Exact OEM replacement MotorCraft brake switch for my Ranger - - FIXED the problem in 5 minutes!!
Ordered this switch to replace the intermittent one on my 2000 Ranger, and it is the OEM part, right down to the stock #. Fairly easy to install, took about 5 minutes, the worst part was laying upside down looking up under the steering wheel (I'm not as young as I once was, and my eyesight made it a bit tricky). Took out the locking cotter pin, slipped the old switch off of the brake pedal shaft and disconnected it from the wiring harness, cleaned the connections before reinstalling, plugged in the new switch and reassembled in reverse order and put the cotter pin back and that was it. My shifter slides effortlessly out of park now, the lights work fine and it works like new. This is the only way to go, as the imported (Chinese) part at the auto parts store was over twice the price, and this is the exact Motorcraft replacement. Shipping was fast, too. HIGHLY recommend this seller, and if you are having issues with your vehicle not wanting to shift out of Park, this is a no-brainer. If you are even remotely mechanically minded, this is a stupid simple job to replace your faulty brake switch and save yourself a bundle at a repair shop. DO IT!!

Motorcraft Replacement
This comes as advertised in a Motorcraft part bag with Motorcraft stampings on the exterior. The part number matched my original and it installed without issue. It fixed the issue I was having with my 2010 CVPI and made the brake lights operate better than they did when I originally purchased the car used about 3.5 years ago.Make sure you keep the coter pin, safety cover and the plastic ring that rides on arm coming off the brake pedal as this does not contain any other parts but the switch itself. There are a handful of good YouTube videos I suggest you watch before trying to make this replacement.
