Pacer Performance21-105 Black 6' Tailgate Rail Guard Kit

I had damage on my F150 tailgate in a spot directly above the rear handle, making it hard to cover up with a traditional cap. I used this as basically a cover to help hide the dents, which it did quite well (Although I had to do some cutting and installed it more as a trim piece than a guard). It's been several months, and the adhesive is still fine. High quality vinyl too.Make sure you get it where you want it, because the adhesive is quite sticky!

It's a nice guard I just wish it would stick better. Of course there is a fine line between it sticking and taking the paint off, but I had to use clamps after install to let it adhere to the bed. It is still sticking now, but my truck capper rear glass door keeps slight pressure on it as well. Time will tell.

The glue is not strong enough to stick properly. It bulges and looks cheap. Do not buy. It’s a waste of money

My 2022 Truck Tailgate is curved and wider than this is! But made it work also the Adhesive Tape is old and does not Stick well as being coiled up it does not lay Flat Even after unrolling it and putting some weight along it. Had to Find some Better Adhesive Tape to get It to Stick and Stay In Place also putting some weight across it as it still was curling ip as the way it was rolled / Packaged. But It helps protect my Trailgate ledge!

Looks great, seams durable. Seams to adhere well. Ends look as good as your trimming.

The actual piece seems to be very good. The tape however was junk. It didn't even cover the entire piece. I followed the instructions to a tee. After leaving it on for three days with tape to hold it secure, it still just pealed off. Even on the instructions it says that you might have to use more tape because it might not hold. Why would you even put the tape on it if it won't hold? So I bought a high strength two sided tape to make it stay. So you might as well add another $15 or so if you truly want to go this route. The manufacturer just needs to put better tape on it .

Exactly what I was looking for. I own a '14 tundra and the tailgate cap doesn't cover anything besides the top. I wanted something that would protect the paint an inch or two downwards. I cut and trimmed what I needed. For some reason the adhesive didn't work very well despite proper prep of the surface. Exchanged the item for another and worked out fine.

The Pacer 21105 tailgate protector does exactly what it's supposed to do - protect the edge of your tailgate. My camper top door was rubbing on the originally unprotected tailgate, wearing the paint away and causing the tailgate to rust. I cleaned up and painted the rusty tailgate first, then installation of this product was simple. The camper top door now rests on the rubber guard when closed, no more wear on the tailgate. Product has only been on for a couple weeks so I can't comment on longevity - it's held in place by adhesive that's pre-applied to the rubber, so that could potentially be a weak spot. Overall, I like it!
