Added layer of protection for your lens
I got this with the intention of having an added layer of protection on top of my lens. I was hiking up to photograph waterfalls in New England and needed an added surface to keep my lenses dry from the mists from the waterfalls. This fits on my Canon ef 24mm f1.4 lens and the lens cap can also fits on top of this filter. The filter doesn't interfere in the frame and there is no vignetting.

Just glass Not multi coated
The 77mm filters I received are Vivitar non multi coated glass. Not very happy considering The product description states that it is multi coated ! I wouldn't have purchased this product if I'd known it wasn't coated. No where on the filter or packaging states anything about multi coating and visually no rainbow reflection as is normally present with coated filters.
