This product came right on time and ready to play. All the number pieces on the rod worked correctly, no warping of the wood, it’s got a light yet solid feel to it, plus it comes with two sets of dice. I’ve played the other version that only goes up to number 9 and has a lid. This version of the game goes up to 12 (which is a lot more difficult in my opinion) and does not have a lid. To be honest, one of my favorite things about Shut the Box is actually shutting the lid down on the box once you finally get all the numbers down. There’s something very satisfying about that part, haha! But as for this particular style of the game, I still would recommend it. It’s easy to learn, and fun to play with others to see who gets the lowest score. Recently, after several days of trying off and on, I finally got all 12 numbers down in one round. It was patient work, but exciting once I finally got to “shut the box.”Warning: this game can be highly addictive! :)It could be a wonderful addition to anyone’s game night, or you could even take it on a road trip. Sure beats staring at a screen the whole time.

My second grader played this game at school and came home and asked if we could buy one for home too. The game is a great little game. It's fun, it's easy to learn, it doesn't take up a ton of space, and there aren't a ton of loose pieces. We actually like taking this with us to restaurants to play while waiting for our food. This game encourages family talk, math skills, and family togetherness. Each person's turn will take about 5 minutes - and that's it... while the endless game of Monopoly is fun, sometimes you just need a quick game to re-direct crazy children or bide the time until your food arrives at a restaurant. The game comes in a nice wooden box with felt for the dice. Highly recommend.

I had given a different Shut the Box game to my grandchildren that was a hinged box with a latch. But the two halves of the box didn't lay flat when opened, and eventually the thin hinges broke. So I decided to try this one that didn't have a lid at all. It is actually more compact than the previous one while allowing plenty of room to play and roll the dice. The storage box looks sturdy and is the perfect size for the game, which is well made and nicely finished. It is nice enough to keep as a game for adults. Having 12 tabs allows more combinations when rolling the dice. I would definitely buy this again for gifts.

We purchased this game to play around the campfire at a seasonal campground. It's fun to play and easy to learn. One of the campers who is a principal at an elementary liked it so much, he is planning to purchase several for his school. It would make a great travel game as well. The reason for 4 stars, not 5, is the dice are very lightweight and cheap (we replaced them with better quality).

I rated this 5 stars because it's a simple game to understanding but totally addicting as you try to close the box.Great math teaching tool.Game construction is wood and well made. A simple flip of the box resets the game.

Been playing this game for years with my family (1-9 blocks) at parties.Bought 1-12 blocks for my sons to help them learn simple math and make it fun. We use this to learn addition and subtraction, plus we use coins to teach them the value of coins.They love it and they’re learning at the same time.

Nice wooden set received quick and on time. Game is easy to learn and fun to play with young and old alike. Pleasantly surprised at how sturdy the number tiles were affixed to the wooden game board. And nice bonus to receive two different colored dice!

What a blast of a game, however there is something about shutting the box once you win. This item is great compact and well made. Product is great however I would suggest the maker of this particular item think about getting a cover/lid to close vs placing the dice game back in a cardboard box. I hate to return it but, not what was expected, the game is called "Shut The Box". Where is the lid? Thats brings out the fun when playing. Every family should have one with or without lid/cover. I choose a lid for mine!
