Gloves are cut resistant and comfortable. I haven't washed them yet but they feel thick enough to protect yet thin enough to not affect handling of cutting implements.There's no easy way to respond directly to the negative reviews freaking out over the Prop 65 warning. I thought I could share a few thoughts on this and why I'm not concerned that you find such a warning on a pair of kitchen gloves.California required this warning on anything that contains ingredients that could conceivably metabolize into benzidine. Note the wording is not "This product contains benzidine", but "This product can expose you to. . ."This is important.Benzidine is an occupational carcinogen and is no longer legal for dye manufacturing. It was responsible for a higher incidence of bladder cancer for workers who were exposed directly to it in large amounts for hours a day, for months on end. The benzidine passes harmlessly through your system until it is collected in the bladder, where it can cause problems if it is constantly present. For this to happen you need constant, long-term exposure. For this chemical to cause cancer in dogs, the only other animal in which bladder cancer is caused, they needed to administer it at a dosage of 100 mg/kg of weight daily for a full year.There is likely less that 100 mg of dye in total in these gloves. Dye simply does not appreciably increase the mass of an item. However, even that 100mg of dye likely contains very little, if any, benzidine. Such a dye would be illegal and certainly if it was being used a company wouldn't call attention to it. Instead, there are ingredients used in dyes that may contain some "impurities" that can metabolize into benzidine. If any of these ingredients are present in the manufacturing process, California requires the warning that the end product "can expose you to" the chemical.So, in short, even if the gloves were dyed with pure benzidine-based dyes you would need to actually eat a pair for every kilogram of your body weight, daily, for a year in order to have a measurably increased risk of cancer. However, the gloves likely do NOT contain a benzidine based dye, but instead a trace impurity (such as Nitrobenzene) that can turn into benzidine under certain conditions, so you would need to eat thousands or tens of thousands of pairs per day in order to be at-risk.In short, don't eat the gloves.

I returned these gloves because I didn’t feel safe using them. They contain benzidine, a cancer-causing dye which has been linked to bladder and pancreatic cancer. Why on earth would you put this in something that is used to handle food? Thanks to another reviewer for pointing out this dye. I did not notice it on the packaging and have included a photo. It is NOT mentioned at all in the Amazon product description. This is irresponsible and dangerous to customers.

Great buy!I took a short video showing how tough these gloves are against a very sharp tactical knife, and I was soooo hesitated to use the knives to cut on these gloves at first because I was able to cut almost everything with this knife. However, the gloves work very well to protect my hands.I tried to cut these cut resistant gloves in all different angles, back and forth sliding, but they are still in perfect condition after all. Pretty sure my video along with 5-Star rating speak it all.If you and your loved ones cook and deal with sharp objects a lot, I would recommend getting a pair to save you a trip from ER. This is a MUST-BUY accessory for kitchen use and cooking.

So normally I don't pay attention to "California Prop 65" warnings but these gloves came with a very specific warning about "benzidine." I didn't know what that was, so I Googled it. It is a dye component that was banned for production in the USA since 1973 due to its cancer causing potential, though it still allows the sale of products made with benzidine dyes. It sounds like some of the highest risks come from ingesting it. So do I really want to be touching my food with these pretty, purple-dyed gloves that may or may not leach something nasty? Perhaps the risk is vanishingly small, but I really have no way of knowing. It is a risk I decided not to take and returned the gloves. I gave two stars because of the scare factor.

I plan to return this product because of the warning on them:" this product can expose you to chemicals including bendzidine which is known to the state of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm."I really cannot comment on durability, easy to clean and comfort because I will not use them.

I ordered these for my grandchildren, one likes to cook the other likes to whittle wood. I am very concerned about the big WARNING on the package that it exposes you to chemicals KNOWN to cause CANCER and REPRODUCTIVE HARM. THIS WAS NOT DISCLOSED ON THE LISTING.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  I bought this gloves for peeling the potatoes because I have to do it most of my time in kitchen, I have to peel more than 30-40 potatoes each day and the way I am doing it was too slow and I always got my fingers cut which is driving me crazy. So now I decided to get a pair of this cut gloves in order for me to peel faster and avoid injuries. I have tested it on a short video to show everyone here. However I am proud to say that they kept my hands intact and blood was not shed. I can definitely save a lot of time from peeling now! Great protection gloves from “Glove Station”!
