Strong and duarable
To be quite honest they worked better than i expected i ride my bike 3 times a week to work and man has it saved me from sharp debris in the ground and sidewalks but main it protects me from all this broken glass all around Los Angeles on top of that i felt that they have improved my riding i find the smoother and i find it rolls every smooth and i like how the tires themselves look not to much design just a straight brand letting you know what your every well protected the flats and puncture have stopped

Really Nice Ride and Puncture Resistant
These are great tires. Seems to be of high quality design and construction by a respected manufacturer that knows tires as I also really like Continental car tires too for their performance and long wear at an affordable price. I brought a really nice high performance used bike but got a flat on the really light weight thin tires that were on it and had to walk the 3 miles back to my car. So I wanted to get some highly puncture resistant tires to replace them. I don't mind a little more weight and maybe a little less performance to avoid getting another flat again. These tires mounted well and ride really well as I haven't noticed any bad ride quality or lost in performance. I also went with the wired beaded tire instead of the folding tire as I thought it maybe a little stronger not being all folded up and therefore maybe a little more puncture resistant.

GREAT Tires, Had to order a 2'nd pair!
Had these for 5 months, no problems (any tire you buy has chances of getting a flat). I ordered another pair today for my other rims. Most of my cycling friends use these tires. Comfort, keep the tire pressure around 75-80 psi to get a more comfortable ride. I had 23's but my 2007 Trek Madone only goes up to a 28.

I can ride with confidence again!
I can finally ride with confidence again. I use three different bikes when I go riding. I have a Trek Dual Sport bike, a Trek Mountain Bike, and a Giant Road Bike. I put these on my Giant Road Bike based off a recommendation from a friend that used to have the same problem as me. My two Trek bikes rarely go flat but then again the tires are lot thicker then my road bike. For some reason, on my Giant Road bike, I was having a lot of bad luck. In the last month before I bought these tires, I had about 6 flats and had to keep replacing my tubes. I even use a tire liner that is supposed to help prevent flats. After only riding a short distance i would get a flat and a couple of the times it happened when I didn't have anyone to pick me up. I really got tired of this happening so I didn't ride my road bike much because I was scared it would get a flat again. So like I said, my friend recommend these tires to me and they have worked out really well so far. I have gone now on four long rides of over 15 miles and no problems. I really feel no difference in regards to roll resistance or anything like that. Maybe if I was into racing I might feel a difference. The tires for me were easy to install. I have basic knowledge when it comes to fixing bicycles and I was able to easily install these tires even though I did get to blisters on my thumbs. These are great tires and I recommend to anyone who needs a great tire and who needs flat protection. Thanks for reading and I hope you find this review helpful!

Quality tire at a reasonable price.
4th set of Gatorskins. Durable, comfortable and resistant to flats. I use them for commuting, general recreational riding and gravel riding on converted tow paths. I have only used the 32's (1 1/4" in the 27") and always been pleased. The 700c measure 33mm on my rims. The 27" pictured have stayed at 32. Could be the rim. The 27" version only comes with the wire bead which adds a few grams. I generally need a tire lever to remove, and for the last couple of inches on installation with CR-18 rims. Never had a flat with them and have never replaced a set from being worn out. Though have sold 2 bikes which wore them. While they say rolling resistance is a little higher than more modern designs, it doesn't bother me and I am happy to lose a few watts for the increased protection. Overall a great general purpose tire.

Puncture Resistance Has Declined
I've been using 700x25C Continental Gatorskins and the older model Ultra Gatoskin tires for 10 years now. Puncture resistance and wear has been exceptional. I purchased and installed two of these 700x25C Gatorskins (Continental P/N 0118539) three months ago and have experienced four flats on the rear tire in the first 1,000 miles. I always carefully examine the inside of the tire and remove whatever caused the puncture, which is usually a thin piece of wire or glass. All I can say us that these newer model Continental P/N 0118539 tires do not appear to be as puncture resistant as the older Ultra Gatoskin model I had been using...or maybe just some really bad luck....don't know! Continental no longer lists the Ultra Gatorskin tire on their website so this is your only choice. Update: It looks like the older and more puncture resistant Ultra Gatorskin tires are now called 'Continental Gator Hardshell.' If you're looking for a more puncture resistant version of this tire then that's what you want to order. I'm going to change my star rating to 4 since it's is a very good riding tire, but just not as puncture resistant. I'll probably keep using it on the front wheel since I have no issues there and almost never flat the front tire.

Good tyres. This is a replacement set for my current ones which are quite well worn.
