Great value, small package. Holds a bunch and works fast. Easy to store. I've got three as backups.

I purchased this drive for backups. Five months after use it began disconnecting from my computer and crashing, even when it has sufficient memory. Now, its use is "iffy" at best.Save your money. Save your time. Buy another brand.

Works great right out of the box. It's small and takes up little space. Very easy to use. Bought a previous 500gB drive and works the same..

Have bought many of these and overall they have lasted better than other brands being very well constructed in aluminum casing, so I have stayed with them. But writing speed can be crazy slow and inconsistent as to drive to drive...have a couple that copy pretty fast...then some that are ridiculously slow, and yes they are exactly the same drives. But again, they seem to last better than others...but one needs to weigh this against speed.

I have had two Iomega (my two oldest, still working very well) and two Seagate (one malfunctioned about one year after purchase and had to be discarded, the other still works well, being newer with a lager capacity, but slower, that the Iomega) USB 2.0 portable drives. This is my first USB 3.0 portable drive, and so far it is excellent. It is faster that the others, not only when connected to a USB 3.0 port (as expected), but even connected to a USB 2.0 port.

Memory was high .. size small .. price is OK .. but first it is by Fantom a trustworthy company.

I never thought I would see this day come about a Fantom drive or the support, that has come. This review is all about Fantom and not the seller, they only sell what they are given by the manufacture, most of the time and my opinion.The drive is junk, working part time, error source messages all the time, pinging noises occasionallyMarch 14, 2015 | 8:23 AM The drive made clicking or knocking sound when started. I sent an email to micronet.com about this and they said, "diagnostic on board, Self-Monitoring". Nothing happened with that because the clicking sounds has not stopped so the diagnostic has done its job.Other emails were similar, not help. They finally decided to return the drive, AT MY EXPENSE. I asked them why since the warranty is in play. "Not their policy, to pay for returning a new drive." I checked what my cost would be, 1/2 what I paid for the drive. I told them that I would never buy another Fantom drive.
