So much fun!
I am an 8 1/2 year old girl. My 6 year old sister was reading Daisy books and this popped up on Cloud (My 2 twin 6 year old siblings and I have our own Kindles.). It had a cute picture of a young girl surrounded by sports equipment so I thought "Why not?". I downloaded it. The first chapter was awesome. I read the whole book. It was SO AMAZING! My favorite part was when two annoying boys in Daisy's class got tangled up on purpose. Then Daisy got mad because her teacher said the boys could do the best part, the 60-meter sprint. Daisy's hilarious thought for this situation was "If I was a teacher and two children had gotten deliberately tangled up on the grass, I would have made them serve cream teas AND do the washing-up afterwards. And wear pink rubber gloves and a frilly apron each." Daisy has quite the imagination. I also thought it was nice how Daisy decided if she won, she would dedicate the race to her best friend, Gabby (who sprained her ankle and couldn't participate in Sports Day) and her teddy bear. It was super funny when Daisy and Gabby (before Gabby sprained her ankle!) were practicing for the egg-and-spoon race and forgot to boil the eggs. They used up all the eggs and made a HUGE mess. Then Daisy's mom noticed and got mad at Daisy and kept obsessing about NO EGGS. Daisy was funny when she got in trouble for cheating and making a fake egg out of gum. I would recommend this super book and series for girls ages 4 and up!

Daisy and the Trouble with Sports Day
Yet another book in the brilliant Daisy series, which are real favourites with my seven year old daughter. Of course, the trouble with sports day is that everyone wants to win, including Daisy. However, as Daisy muses, it is really difficult to win a race on sports day, “especially if there are other people in the race.” As always, Daisy takes things really seriously and decides to go into Olympic Training and embark on a Go For Gold Eating Plan. The fact Daisy’s that this includes chocolates and cheese strings causes her mum to question the success of this plan, but, of course, Daisy knows best. All children – and parents – know the stresses and joys of Sports Day and it is all in this book. From how to win the Egg and Spoon race to pushy parents, Daisy turns her quizzical eye and innocently funny turn of phrase onto school life. I love all the Daisy books – as does my daughter – and this is utterly joyous. As well as a brilliant story, the illustrations add so much to the book too. I just hope that Kes Gray continues writing more adventures for Daisy and her mum, as they are simply wonderful.
