Materials and Techniques of Post-Tonal Music (4th Edition)

I think it's a pretty good book. I'm in my 4th semester of conservatory-level theory and we needed to get this book for our section on post-tonal music. I mean, I don't see why you'd really wanna buy it unless you have to for a class. If I didn't have all this music experience, I'd probably not get much at all from the text.TOO EXPENSIVE, THOUGH!!!!! I seriously paid $110 dollars for a skinny paperback book :(

I purchased this book as a university prescribed text and I found it very informing.It goes reasonably in depth to the material and easily explains post-tonal music.A very useful university text book and I would recommend this to students studying music, or those interesting in post-tonal music.

great book for theory 4! Really helps with all of those confusing and differcult questions

If you are a music aficionado, this might not be the right book for you. It is a great book to understand "modern" music. As a required text in class, it is definitely a great study aid.

Needs more notation for a music book.

Great book but too pricey.

best introduction to the essentials of 20th century music, including the transition form the romantic period. examples and exercises make it a complete learning and review book.

Daughter needed this for college
