Rectify - Series 2 [DVD] [2015]

Series 1 was essential to view in order to continue the intrigue into series 2. Contrary to the info this 2nd series comprises of 3 discs spanning 10 episodes. Daniel Holden will always be dogged by the memories of his incarceration as the seemingly innocent person ( or was he ? ) put on death row for a crime that was later overturned because of new forensic evidence. Add to this the alienation of not being able or allowed to readjust into the World he has been released back into. He is still in the prison of his mind as the findings of the crime that originally put him on death row are being re-examined ( or could they have really been the truth all along ? ). Those that may know and those that had believed his death sentence was what he deserved are put on edge by his reappearance amongst them in their little town. But why? Why do some feel that he is innocent without concrete proof whilst others desperately insist on his guilt for reasons that may better suit their own agendas. Are we to believe that Daniel Holden has been so psychologically damaged by how he has been treated, or was he like that anyway and have we ( as viewers ) been drawn into believing in his innocence by what we, ourselves, are being led to believe ?. No one will know for sure until the end. 'Rectify' is such a good series that takes in so many forms of human emotions and psychological pain. I find the pace to be spot-on. If it had been made into a 2 hour film so many of the essential details would have had to have been left out. This gets top marks from me and is so much better than virtually all other predictable, the run of the mill, telly series dross that is littering the DVD market these days.Eamonn

Simply brilliant. The most moving TV series I've ever watched. A fantastic premise sets off a profoundly moving and intelligent story that is character-driven and very courageous and perceptive when exploring all the dark corners of the human heart.

The music maker is spot on ( earlier review)...No smart mouth cardboard acting (sic) here.If that's what you need try the Flash.Intense and very moving. Momentum purposefully slow and all the better for it.Soundtrack pretty neat too.

UK R2 ITV Studios release definitely comes with English HOH subtitles. (as S1 did).

Finns inte mycket att säga, det blir helt enkelt inte bättre än den här serien. Kvaliteten är helt ok, men såklart inte lika bra som BluRay.

Un rythme qui permet d'approfondir personnages et situations, un scénario bien ciselé et des acteurs, tous excellents.La saison 2 tient toutes ses promesses.
