Yosegi, or yosegi-zaiku, is a type of traditional Japanese mosaic woodwork which originated in Japans culturally rich Edo Period. Yosegi veneers are commonly found on the outside of Japanese secret boxes (Himitsu-Bako) or puzzle boxes, but may also be used to decorate many other items such as trays, chests, kendama, coasters, photo frames and jewelry boxes. Zougan-Zaiku Marquetry Wooden Mosaic is made by setting patterns of landscapes and characters created by natural wood colors, which are cut out from wood materials, in a main board. This process is very intricate and timely. Yosegi and Zougan Japanese puzzle box is high class puzzle box and limited.Well handcrafted in Hakone, Japan since Edo era
